I have a feeling Chevy may be the next Tambo - afraid to pull the trigger on a deal!

What was Hainsey looking for contract wise? Is he worth the probably 5.5m he will be getting as a UFA

Hainsey is not worth that- no where near but he will get more than he should if current spending spree drunken sailor antics continue on UFA day.

Good read. I'm interested in the big picture. With lots of draft picks and all their UFAs and RFAs, compliance buyouts etc it is going to be an interesting couple of weeks. Chevy hasn't given me a reason to doubt his long term vision for the team yet. Hope I feel the same way when training camp opens.

If you pick up Lou or Miller or some other tender I would be happy to send you Burmi for Reimer.

Winnipeg has one of the shallowest prospect pools in the NHL.

Trade one of those 2nd rounders maybe.. but only for a decent piece. The cupboards are pretty barren in Pegtown still.. though getting better slowly.

Who sets up Vanek in Wpg?

While the guy is a talent I think the contract is too much for Winnipeg. That being said I don't think Chevy parts with that much for one player at Vanek's age.

Edit: just checked Vanek's age. I thought he was older. Still a lot for Jets to give on guy who could be gone after next year.

All the big TSN guys were saying it at the deadline, they never pulled the trigger tho. Vanek is a great player and he would stay here if we werent rebuilding. He would resign in winnepig.
