Feaster is going to take a lot of flack for this, but I would assume that Iggy wanted Pittsburg and Feaster got him there. All Feaster could do at that point is get as much out of Shero as possible.

Sure Iggy is worth more, but the team stood by their franchise player and got him where he wanted to go, not where they could get the best return - that's class.

If you count your rebuild starting the year before last, that means you already had Karlsson, Spezza, Alfreddsson, Michalek, Gonchar, and Phillips.

We'll take those guys off your hands if rebuilding is so easy without them.

it's easy to rebuild fast like Ottawa when you actually have pieces of value to ship off... the fact that you think we should be in the playoffs 2.5 years after a FULL rebuild, not a retooling like Ottawa did is pathetic, and makes you look like hurting ass troll

Very good point. The Flames (also any team really) have to make themselves attractive to Free-Agents and how you treat a player and his family goes a long way in being able to convince someone to come. Just my opinion. Also, a couple of the top college free agents play of the same teams as the guys they traded for, maybe this helps the flames get an extra prospect out of it.

very important point. ottawa didn't "rebuild", the "retooled".....big difference. the core of ottawa's team remained intact. you can't compare what ottawa did to what edmonton is doing.

honestly, i thought edmonton would be a little further ahead then they are now.....but i think that's cuz management has failed to get the proper supporting pieces to compliment the young talent that's there.

edm's rebuild was never gonna be quick, and i think most of their fans realized that. when the entire core of your team is under 22, it's gonna take some time.

which is why you don't trade everyone for picks. You proved my point. Calgary needs to keep guys like giordano, cammy. You need young guys to be led by example and into a winning environment. Be in denial if u want but the oilers accept losing

Plus, the B's won't be big on the deal becoming by all means known to the players that they were allegedly shipping out. Awkward situation for those players, especially when you swing and miss on the deal. Bruins feel had by Calgary, and I think you'll hear that when Chiarelli speaks to the media today. I still don't understand why everyone thinks the Oilers should be further along... IT'S ONLY BEEN 2.5 YEARS SINCE THEY BLEW THE TEAM UP...... It took Pitsburgh 6 YEARS to make the playoffs with Crosby and Malkin.... like ffs
