My buddy broke one not to long ago. Looked like someone cut him open and put a golfball instead of a knuckle.

Yes the oilers top goal scored who happens to be tied for third in team points (which is coincidentally more than Hemsky has btw) isn't in the top ten players on the team. Just when I thought you couldn't say anything more stupid than you already have.

Oddly enough it only took couple weeks to heal and he didn't take any time off.

Having Petry and Smid that high is laughable.

Smid especially. I think they are solid 3-4 guys, but right now they have been terrible the last couple games. Smid especially. He was -3 last night.

We need a center that can win face-offs and chip in on the offense. Who is available?

Rich, Ales Hemsky and Sam Gagner should be 1 and 2 if we are going off play "right at the moment" They have been our best line. Yak should be right around the 5 or 6 spot. Without that line producing we are talking about not winnin for MacKinnon. O'Reilly for MPS and our 1st would be a no brainer.

Brock Nelson is a very strong player who is getting better every game down in AHL. Think he had hat trick the other night. I don't think the Islanders would trade a former first round pick with his potential for 2 second rd picks. But, Islanders have made a few wacky trades in the past so I guess nothing is off the table.

Nelson was what, 30th overall. Two 2nd's worth a former late 1st? Maybe. But if I'm the Islanders I'm asking for plenty, because Nelson is a stud. He'd absolutely be a huge solution to the Oilers long-term needs at center.

Are you (frank)ing crazy? Oilers will be close to playoffs, but may just miss. If they do then they are in the lotto and the first round of the draft is DEEP. They would be crazy to ship the first this year out.

No way in H#LL would i give up this years first rd pick and paajarvi for oreilly.
Not only is paajarvi finally starting to show consistent glimpses of the power forward he should be, but as clouts mentioned this year is one of the best drafts since 03. Not the Star power all the way through but solid. 2013 draft will probably be the last year for a while that they oilers have a chance to be in the bottom 3-8 overall draft picks. Going to need that good prospect going forward.

Oreilly reminds me of PK Subban. By that i mean he overvalues himself. oreilly is 21! it's not like he came into the league and at 21 scored 92 points.... no he scored 2 seasons of 26 points and 1 season of 55 points.... not worth a first rd pick in my opinion lol

If that's what it takes than gagner has 4 or 5 season s of 40-50 points. lol is he now worth a 1st rd pick??? ya.... that's what i thoguht..

I def see him fitting on the Oilers, but it sounds like Islanders are shopping Okposo instead right now. Kind of paranoid that Snow will trade Brock as I can't see the Islanders signing a center like him in Free agency as they do not attract the top talent. Only solution for the Islanders is to develop these guys. But we are talking about the Wang and Snow show so nothing surprises me anymore.

Nelson is such a great player. They should keep him. Tavares, Strome and Nelson as your 1, 2, 3 at center? Amazing.

Eventually the Oilers have to stop worrying about prospects and start winning. Draft is deep? Great. Does that mean the Oilers are guaranteed anything. No. Comparing Gagner and O'Reilly is apples and oranges. O'Reilly is a shut down guy that has the ability to score. Gagner is a scoring center that well to be blunt isn't very good defensivly. Is Logan Couture worth a first rounder? Yes? Try comparing Gagner and Couture, you'll see Gagner is right on par if not better.

6'5" 210lbs of offense

Another guy I'm watching is Valentin Zykov 6'0" 210. He had 28 points in 12 January games! I could see him tearing up on a line with Gagner and Yakupov.

"You all know how this works in Edmonton. Oilers GM Steve Tambellini and the management group are extremely patient and won't jump into making a bad deal, even if it means trying to survive the rest of the season without Horcoff. "

In other words a nice way of saying that Tamby will do exactly the same thing as he has done everytime this has happened in the last 5 years... Nothing.

We have needed a decent center with size (and a top 4 defense man) since he took over, and we are still waiting. All he does is lose and grab yet another high pick. No depth again even though this is the 5th straight year of nothing but one horrendous season of injuries after another. No plan other than calling up one of the smallest players in the organization. How can this guy keep his job?

This team is so frustrating, they should be a lot better than this.

Yeah, no. Couture is much better on the dot, is a better and faster skater, has the full package offensively, and has shown to be more adept in his own end than Gagner. Also, he's been consistently high scoring over his first few years.

Would something like Eller for Paajarvi work, in your opinion?

Eller: 13th overall in 2007
Paajarvi: 10th overall, 2009

When I watch Eller play I can see that he has lots of talent but he just hasn't managed to put it all together yet.

I'm wondering if something like this could work :dunno:.

Habs have Galchenyuk, Plekanec, Eller and Desharnais at center so we could afford to trade him away. We do have talent on the wings but it's aging (i.e. Cole, Gionta) so we could use someone to supplement Pacioretty and Gallagher.
