Don't think it's arguable. Zajac has been the best forward hands down. but we're still doomed because he is an overpaid plug.

Caps seem pretty bad right now but to me that means they can break out of it at any moment. Their goalies are young but either of them have shown they can play out of their minds from time to time. Pretty much have to play hard and never let up. With top notch talent that is under producing we have to keep that in check because it could be a runaway if we let them find their stride.

If they wanted to keep matteau up if they felt he was ready AND teddy fit in on the first line, then i wouldn't mind them keeping matteau up for the year.
Lines would be:

elias-henrique-zubrus
matteau-josefson-clarkson
carter-gionta-bernier

if they send matteau down i think they should call up butler and then i would say the lines would be:

zubrus-zajac-kovy
elias-henrique-clarkson
teddy-josefson-butler

Hopefully not but good thing for us is we are getting them on the second game of there back to back from the highlights I watched they have looked very un impressive and this is a snowball that has been rolling and getting big with each year I could see them staying in big slump but yes you can not ignore the skill they have its just weather or not they have the heart to come out of it that is the big question

I think the Caps break out of their slump later rather than sooner.
Between adapting to a new style and the effects of the lock out i wouldn't be surprised if it took them another month to get going. Going to be important for the Devils to get points while teams are struggling early, could be the difference in making the playoffs or not.

Let's go Devils!!

Devils line up possibilities looking pretty damn solid.

for all those who were complaining about teddy last year and how he should be in the top 6, if he cant produce with zajac and kovy well then he wont produce with anyone on our team

he still has alot to show and he needs to start showing it sooner than later, he has created chances in first 2 games but he needs to keep it up and show confidence in the coaches

i agree but the coach should give him a full game with regular time with his line. give him a fair shake you know

the 1st 2 games the devils have had the lead and deboar cuts down the lines to shut down the other team, tedenby hasnt exactly shown (in the past) to be an effective 2 way player, he runs around in the defensive zone and misses his assignment, and unlike kovy (who has improved defensively) teddy doesnt have that fear offensively to keep him out

This is Tedenby's chance to make an impact and ensure he stays in the NHL this season. Though I have a feeling Josefson will eventually end up taking his spot on that line when we get into the 2nd half of the game. Clearly has not earned the trust of Deboer yet. I'm hoping he can prove himself since we are lacking offensive talent.

Devils typically put Greene-Fayne up against the top pairing, not Salvador. Although if Salvador winds up being out there, it's not like he's immediately taken off either.

I don't get why bernier is on the second PP unit over teddy. Give the kid a chance.

He played wing in place of Tedenby one game when the Devils were holding a lead. They put Josefson-Elias-Clarkson out, before Josefson moved to center, but he was at wing for a few shifts.

yes but i doubt it would become more of a permanent thing, unless we add a player via trade, and/or he shows more offense (production)

We need an early goal to sap the energy from the Caps.

Not a good start. Marty has made a couple of good saves.

Not a good start for Teddy. Could find himself benched if this continues. Hopefully this PP changes momentum.
