There is zero doubt Belfour will win. Figure Turco gets the backup spot, but I'd have personally voted for HHOFer Gump Worsley. Even though he was in his 40s by the time he got to the North Stars, he was still pretty damn good. However, I only saw him play once on TV when I was a kid.
But goalies from other eras are especially hard to rate against today's goalies. It's almost an entirely different position than the one Worsley played, especially in the days when him not wearing a mask was still the norm and not the "dinosaur" exception.

Hard to argue against Crazy Eddie and Turco. Belfour is probably my favorite of all time, would love to have a beer or two with him.
If Lehtonen can get some better teams in front of him he'll supplant Turco, but for now this is right. |
