Choose the Stars/North Stars All-Time Roster: Goalies

Today's installment of the Ultimate Stars roster is one that figures to have very little suspense after narrowly decided votes for lineup spots on the wings and defense. Today, we'll pick the starting and backup goaltenders. The starter is pretty much a no-brainer but the vote for the back up is between two to four legitimately viable candidates.

Yesterday, Sergei Zubov (92 percent inclusion by voters), Derian Hatcher (84%), Darryl Sydor (77%), Larry Murphy (41%), Stephane Robidas (36.7%) and Kevin Hatcher (36.2%) earned the six starting spots on the blueline. Mark Tinordi (35 percent) will serve as the seventh defenseman on the roster.

Coming tomorrow, we will select the final two forward roster spots in a run-off poll of the top wingers and centers who did not win a spot the first time around. When I select starting line combinations, I will also pick a designated enforcer -- Basil McRae will be the guy -- to finish out the roster and also pick three injury callups in the event of vacancies on the active roster.

The roster to date:

FORWARDS: Mike Modano (C),Joe Nieuwendyk (C), Brad Richards(C), Neal Broten (C), Brett Hull (W), Dino Ciccarelli (W), Brenden Morrow (W), Jere Lehtinen (W), Bill Guerin (W), Brian Bellows (W), Jamie Langenbrunner (W).

DEFENSE: Sergei Zubov, Derian Hatcher, Darryl Sydor, Larry Murphy, Stephane Robidas, Kevin Hatcher, Mark Tinordi (7th D).
