I'm predicting Cimaglia will earn far more selling real estate this year than Brian Campbell will make playing hockey.

I agree that the players you highlighted will most likely be on the roster opening night. I also think Leblanc and Richards will be a part of the opening night roster too.

Good luck to you Al!

Any non-highlighted players potential future Blackhawks? I assume the Hawks would maintain control over them.

And yes - good luck Al - things have to be getting better in real estate.

Just sitting up here in Canada wanting to get my hockey fix!Can someone out there tell me how the quality of the streaming is?Do you get announcers or is it just video feed?Is the AHL site better and worth the extra money? Thanks for any help.

You're kidding me, right?

I've been joking all off-season about the hawks going after Lebda, and they did?

Time to start joking about winning the lottery.

I can't vouch for the AHL streaming but I've been streaming DEL and KHL games and get very good quality feeds. I don't think it's worth paying the extra $$, personally, to get the stream through any league's website, but that's my 2 cents.

Unrelated, but I was wondering which Hawk was going to be the first to sign a contract in Europe, and it looks like its Michael Frolik.

Technically, he's not a Blackhawk. Not yet anyways. He's on a PTO, which is just a tryout contract. It's also an AHL contract.

Currently, the Hawks have 49 contracts. They have room for one more to hit the limit of 50. As of now, I don't think the Hawks, or any NHL team can sign a player during the lockout.

I have a feeling Lebda will end up sticking in Rockford for the season on a AHL deal. As JJ said, he gives the team more depth on defense in an emergency. The nice thing is that the Hawks won't have to offer him a NHL contract unless they absolutely have to.

I just wish they would have chosen a better option than Lebda.

Yes, I am aware of that, I was sort of oversimplifying, and making light of the situation.
Just not the winning the lotto part. That is serious.

Eli, that would involve not shopping at Goodwill or K-Mart Blue light specials.

Beav, they might have found a better defenseman than Lebda at either place.

It's not the Ice Hogs/Blackhawks, but aren't all Wolves game on Comcast TV?

....the roster of the AHL Rockford Ice Hogs is taking on a decidedly NHL flavor.

With the exception of Shaw, Kruger, Leddy (all of which still have a lot of growing to do), and the washed up and too small Brett Lebda (with "too small" being why he might thrive in the Hawks' system), only a small handful of the other thirty players on the roster have had more than a sniff of NHL time.

Still might be worth a trip to RockVegas now and then until things get sorted out.

The beauty of the lineup is the true Icehogs get to be surrounded with better quality players...
