At least the Marlies will be good, once the lockout starts. Already inquiring about getting a season ticket for my home town Belleville Bulls. If this is what we have in store, if there is a long lockout, the referees and administrators are going to be busy handing out justice to the posters, here at HB.

What have you heard about the Hockeyville game? Is it going to be in Stirling, or at the Yardmen Arena?

This is off topic but WTF BURKE!! You've done NOTHING to improve the Leafs this summer. Ur a bum. You are a terrible judge of talent in today's NHL. I say we bring in Anthopolous.

Considering how the leafs drove themselves off a cliff during the last 30 games of the season last year.......... maybe a lockout shortened season is just what the doctor ordered to break the leafs playoff drought

Well? It's either a sprint into the playoffs, or to the bottom of the standings. We'll see what will happen, in a shortened season.

Even when they were in the drivers seat, for a playoff spot, many Leafs fans knew that there were some bad habits in their game. For most of the year, the offence carried this team, but their defensive zone coverage was poor. Their goaltending was substandard but not the reason that they missed the playoffs. Under Wilson, they couldn't kill penalties and were only able to score off of the rush. Once teams looked at video of this team, they devised a scheme on how to shut them down and beat them on turnovers. It wasn't pretty, the last quarter of the season. So what has improved this year, from last year?

Literally, all they had to do was win 10 of 20 games and they would of made the playoffs....... instead they lost 17 or 18 of 20........ Who could of predicted that.

Christ, the marlies probably could of done better.

It is entertaining to see the new and exciting ways the leafs learn to miss the playoffs every year.

Hopefully next year if there is no lockout the leafs will do something even more dramatic. Be in first place in the conference after the first 45-50 games and the only way they can miss the playoffs is if they lose all 32 remaining games and they do it somehow.

The leafs make the impossible possible........

You can tell that it's the dog days and that a labour disruption is coming. Not much in the way of hockey talk and no-one around. Usually a Mike thread is already 5 pages long, discussing the hockey topic of the day. Usually the Nuckleheads and Oil Patch Dolls are also here, causing mayhem. It's just so dead around here!
