Poile also said they would match any deal for Weber, did that stop philly?! All team offering deals also have to deal with the salary cap, so 12m for 12 years in pretty much unrealistic. If some team comes in at 6.5 for 10 years, the Jets match no problem. |

Uh, no. If you want to offer sheet player A, someone saying they'll match it isn't a deterrant. What is the club supposed to say... "Please offer sheet him, we won't match any offer. He's all yours," or "well, we will only match your offer up to a ceetain dollar amount."
