Home for Doan is good old Alberta.
If I was the Flames i'd offer 2-3 years, 5 mil per.
It's clear the Flames aren't gonna blow it up, might at well bring him in!!!
(And then trade bouwmeester) - The-Dalai-Lama
I wouldn't rule out Calgary or Edmonton. |

His wife is from Kamloops... he met her there when he was playing for Blazers... is co-owner of the Kamloops Blazers... runs an annual charity golf tournamnet in Kamloops... and spends alot of his off season in BC... he is also very close to Laurence Gillman (canucks assistant GM) and wants a good combination of a good organization and a good chance to win a cup.
So that can leave Calgary and even Edmonton off the list... and Toronto
I would bet good money that he signs with either Canucks... Phoenix or LA. - kneughter
I doubt it. His family runs a Christian kids ranch in Alberta. Kamloops geographically doesn't give any of the three cities a geographic advantage.
He has been in Edmonton with his son who is enrolled in a hockey camp.
So at this point there is no reason to believe any teams are off the list. Edmonton and Calgary are just as likely as any other team.

His agent has stated he wants to play with a CONTENDER... I would give Edmonton a "meh" on that... only because Edmonton won't be contending for at least a few years.. which by that time he will be retired.
Out of all the things he is supposedly looking for in a team... Canucks match up pretty well... I'm not guaranteeing it... but if I were to bet money... it would be on him signing in either Phoenix or Vancouver. |

right, cuz tampa deff got worse this offseason... i know i aim high but if lindback cant put up better numbers than 13-16-2 that roloson did last year then we have tokarski, helenius, janus, vasilevskiy, or we could trade for someone. we improved our team in every area we needed to. cant wait to prove you all wrong. gang up all you want since im the only bolt fan here. i get to see the team much more than you guys do. - boltsfan48

For all of you that think he will go to Vancouver, I think you are forgetting the travel schedule that they have. BRUTAL. Winning can definitely be DOAN there but you have to consider that at 35 that travel will take its toll. If not Pheonix, he goes elsewhere. I'm not in the know, but it seems like a bad mix for a veteran that takes a physical beating every night on the ice paired with the schedule they have. Just a thought |

Doan is 35 not 75, sleeping on a first class plane takes the same toll on a 35 yr old as it does a 25 yr old. |

My 2 cents...
Thomas broke trust. His facebook antics aside, his atrocious behavior during the White House celebrations aside as well... at the end of the day he told his team "Screw You Guys, I am Going Home".
Why would any team trust that this will not happen again in mid season... hell... in mid-game.
His unprofessionalism, his quasi-racist stance and tea-party attitude will follow him like a shadow. - Beatle_john

Did one of the people from MSNBC write that up for you. Quasi racist? I love how if you disagree with a black in 2012 you're automatically racist.

Sure, except when you are in what is described as 'car accicents' for a full game, every game. Last time I checked they have no one in Vancouver like him. Theyre a finesse team, he's a banger. I think he looks at them but the West coast travel scheduling is tough and getting through it for a year at his age isnt something you've seen him do, not in Vancouver anyway. |

Thank you! I don't WANT to get into politics, so I won't...but Thomas, just like any other American can voice his opinion and has the right to disagree with a political system in place. Simple as that. How anyone can say he is wrong for that is UN-AMERICAN. He also reserves the right to sit out a season or not go to the White House for a visit. Its called Freedom---something we seem to take for granted and even lose some of everyday. Give him some credit for being REAL. |
