Don't be an idiot for wanting an aging goalie who is worthless in a trade due to the fact that yesterday he went out and stated 'I think its time I left (Vancouver)'. I don't ever want Lu. Never. |

Franson, 2nd Rounder 2013, Bozak, Lombo for Luu? - Mapleleafs_91
See, I think this is the same type of situation that Burke and Gillis are dealing with. Lombardi wouldn't have a role on this team and Gillis has stated that he is strongly against dumping NHL caliber players to the AHL. |

how old is marty... luongo is not horrible, he is still a top 5 goalie.... just has a CRAPPY contract... he is a one way ticket to the playoffs... and we need that right now.... |

Why do we need the playoffs? As much as I would love to crawl into the playoffs and be swept in the first round I really don't want to. I'd rather suck ass and draft a franchise center for Kessel in the likes of Nathan MacKinnon.
EDIT: And allow Reimer and Scrivens, goalies we drafted and signed, to play. After next season we will figure out who of the two will be our starter for the future. Ever heard of a guy named Johnathan Quick? No way really?!?!?! Guess what amigo, he SUCKED for years but did L.A go out and sign/trade for an aging goalie? No they had confidence in their rebuild and he was part of that rebuild. |

No doubt. But they are not gonna deal him for nothing plus a salary dump, anyone with common sense knows this as well. |

I believe he said five. I'm glad he's gone out and said that he isn't going to trade away our farm for a chance to make the playoffs next year. Also that he doesn't care if he gets fired which means to me that losing sucks ass but in order to win and build a playoff team you need to lose. He's also said that he's more then happy going into next year with the Reimer/Scrivens tandem.
What he said five years ago may have changed over the course of time. He's never actually fully rebuilt a team just tweaked them. I think when he came here he saw a team that could work in five years but obviously that's not the case. We still don't have a 1C for Kessel nor a 'for sure' goalie. I believe in Reimer, don't get me wrong, but having someone like Lindback, Bernier or Markstrom is a lot more assuring then a undrafted college kid in Scrivens and a concussed kid in Reimer. Catch my drift? - Unholy_Forward
Indeed I do, although Kessel does seem to be doing well enough without a play making center so far. |

they will deal him for a good prospect/pick + a salary dump. there is definitely a high salary player coming back to the nucks. |

Imagine what he could do with a playmaking center though? |

miracles happen, but whats to stop us from playing just well enough to get another top 10 but that incredible #1 center isnt available then what... there is nothing saying that the wait and see scenario works... getting a NUMBER FREAKING 1 goalie is not something that just happens, our offence was not brutal last year, it was actaully good, and what made us lose games was shady goal-tending... so why not improve on the area that needs it the most... |

Well man, I feel sorry for you but LuLOLOLOLongo will not win us a cup and even if we don't get MacKinnon next year there are loads of consolation prizes after him = strong draft year. |

im glad you agree that it's funny that no nucks fans think a high salary player is coming back. they think there is a huge demand for luongo |

Obv schneider is for real......... why wouldnt he be? - Mapleleafs_91
B/c he hasn't proven it over a 60 start season, and Luongo has, there is an argument that Lu is still the better goalie. That can be put to rest for good if Schneider puts up a 40 win, 2.2 GAA or lower, SV pct of .910 or higher season.
Not saying he isn't a legit #1, but he still has to prove it. Jim Carey says hi. |

It's even funnier when they think they'll get anything more the a B- prospect like Percy. |

you are a closed minded individual who should try and gain some perspective.... i never said he (luongo) was the answer... i said postive things and negative things about him... the leafs could do a lot worse than him... and yes they could do some positive things... but why rag on a gold medal winning, top tier goal-tender.... - Not_Sure42
Agreed. You're wasting your time though, people like him will never look at things reasonably. Better to just ignore them. |
