On Florida: Source, "They continue to not be very close to the Gillis asking price and at times have been on again and off again.." (which is not that atypical in such a negotiation) The Panthers have two plans, 1 with and 1 without Luongo. However, the longer this goes the Panthers get less of a benefit. With a contract and PR like Luongo's you want to sell season tickets..so making that happen now is essential or the benefit is lost...

On Toronto. There is a divide. From talking to sources I get the sense in one corner is Brian Burke, who feels as if the Luongo contract would make him a hypocrite in that he has long been against such contracts. In the other corner sits Nonis and basically everyone else trying to sell Burke on Luongo's outstanding numbers and justifying the contract by saying Burke is trading for a need, and it's not his contract.

Who else? I still hear Chicago..but not sure who else could be in on this..I only know there is apparently a third team...at one point the Blue Jackets were in...
