I agree. They both are terrible, yet Nash gets a pass because he doesn't have a chance to choke in the playoffs and no one notices his average of being an above-average player.
They both rank in the top-5 worst contracts in the league. Kovy will be in that list in a yr or two. - FLflames34
Put Hossa Bryz Keith Zetterberg Franzen Kane Crosby Richards Parise Price OV Suter on that list too

Seriously, Leaf fans think Luongo with his contract is worth nothing. Canuck fans think he is worth the moon. Who Gives AF, wait till the trade goes down. Hopefully soon, then judge it.
How are the same people arguing not bored of it yet?
This Lou crap is getting worse the Anson Carter/Richard Park/Tomas Kaberle/Mats Sundin/Dany Heatley....HB sagas....
....I just don't get how it's not resolved yet. Florida is bleeding money but wants to take on a ten year contract....yes his salary goes down over the course of the deal but it's still a 10 year contact..then you have Chicago - if Lou gets traded there and the Hawks knock out the Canucks...well, we've seen a riot before and I could see one again, lol.
Then you have the lowely Leafs whom (I believe) want Lou but won't come near the asking price for his services. You also have Lou whom seems to prefer Florida but will take the pressure of Toronto if needed.
It makes your head hurt. It's just a big game of chicken right now. Who knows how long it'll continue.

Relocation would put Chicago and Vancouver only meeting in the conference finals... And you are right that Lou wont net a blue chip prospect but it should net a top 9 forward with question marks about him (ala Mason Raymond), a top 4 dman, (ala Ballard) and a 3rd round pick or higher...
SO a trade with Toronto would look something like Lombardi, Franson, and a 3rd

Any chance SJ is the 3rd team.
Lets say they do this
To Van: J Thornton, D Murrey
To Sj: Luongo, Ballard, Raymond, Van 1st
To Jackets: Marleau, Raymond, Neimi
To SJ: Nash

People want Ballard & Raymond just as much as they want Komi, and Raymond, Vancouver doesn't even want.

So basically SJ would just be trading away most of their depth for one above average forward and a goalie with a bad contract and a bad playoff track record. Vancouver wins in this scenario easily.
I'm sure Gillis has already been offered more than that from Burkie. If I'm Gillis, I hang up and continue talking with Florida and Chicago and just use Chicago to drive up the price from Florida as much as I can.
