I think Yandle is a terrible player and should be traded to the Hawks for Frolik and Montador.
Nice write-up. I've always liked Yandle and think he s a real solid player.
Do you think Doan is going to leave? He would be nice on a line with Kane and Toews. |

I agree with pretty much everything you said. The only thing is perhaps he gets dealt in a deal that bring backs another more two way D (less the O, more the D) and a proven forward to perhaps deal with a possible Doan loss from the lineup. In the sports world, everyone is available provided the right deal is on the table... so while I agree trading Yandle is unlikely, it could be made if the deal benefitted the Yotes long term.
By the way, Rundbald could easily step in right now and replace Yandle's production. |

You're completely right, it's just that there's 29 other teams and their collective fans hoping the yotes make him available. |

I have a hard time believing Tippett would allow Rundblad to play on the edge of Marc-Andre Bergerism it would require to put up 40+ points immediately. He still needs some time. |

I agree he needs some time... like 40+ minutes a game time! Rundbald is on the verge of being a legend. Book it.

Not that it's been the case, but I am not a big fan of teams with players on bloated contracts using the teams that need to get to the cap floor as a sort of dumping ground.
Definitely not what the cap floor was intended for. |

The separation of the cap celing and floor is an issue. Its funny that when the first CBA came out, the celing was almost 10 million less than what the floor is today. Wasn't the salary cap supposed to evne the playing field? Seems the same model continues to allows the money teams to get more rich while the non-money teams are being forced to pay more than they should. The cap being at 50 mill, or whatever it is right now, just seems off. I get that they want teams being competitive, but like you said, adding these bloated contracts to meet the floor defeats the overall purpose. |

Kyle Turris fever still on? Best 30 goal man to never score 15 - AdamFrench Listen, I was not a fan of the trade and i had a pre-concieved idea of what Turris was. i can honestly say I was wrong on him and it'd have to be obvious because I like ot be right and I like to see things the way I see them. He's a pretty positionally sound player. He plays all three zones (which I never thought he did), he wins draws, he battles and he clearly has a very nice release. This year is the year I am interested in. I'd imagine it'd be hard for anyone to miss a training camp, sit and then get moved a couple months into the season and deliver the goods, but even in that situation, he looked good here. Point wise and goal wise, hard to figure what he'll produce. Part of me thinks he has it in him to be a 60 point guy if Alfie returns and we figure out a LW for that line but the real bonus is how polished he is all over the ice. Maybe that is the effect of playing in the desert, I don't know, but he takes that responsibility on and rarely gets caught.
On a side note, I saw him and his girlfriend (I saw her first, that lucky bastard) out and my immediate reaction of him (which is quite different than her) was "holy crap this guy is skinny." Skinny legs esepcially, and doesn't ahve that typical hockey core. I recall seeing Volchenkov one time and I don't think I've ever seen a guy so wide. Legs, butt, chest, he didn't look normal. Ridiculous. Anyways, Turris needs bulk, I can tell you that much. His GF doesn't need anything.

Adam French: Why The Coyotes Can't Trade Keith Yandle - AdamFrench
You made a great argument, but Yandle trade rumors get attention.....even if it makes no sense as you have pointed out clearly. If Doan leaves and they trade Yandle it would be as if they are trying to end the Oilers run of 1st overall picks. |

As long as Tambellini is the GM, the competition for dead last will be intense. |

Depends on who they get for Yandle, they'd need a big time scorer. |

Perhaps. Picking first overall every year shows the skill of being a crafty GM. |
