* The player who defined the scoring power center position and the best Leaf EVER. The all-time leading scorer of any original 6 franchise. Think about that!
Alfie has more points with the Sens than Sundin had with the Laffs.
Think about that! - Cup 06
True, but it took Alfie 3 more years to do it.
Sundin also has 267 more points than Alfie does in his NHL career.
at Alfie's current pace of 59 points/season, he'd have to play another 4/5 seasons to catch Sundin.
Ain't gonna happen |

Parise is going to Minnesota without a question he is from there he lives there he has friends and family that lives there his dad lives there. Hes a hometown guy and loves minnesota also suter will be coming here because he is from Madison Wisconsin, and his wife is from Bloomington! - Neal18Koivu9
yet he decided not to go to school in his home state
omg he was born there and his family is there that means he is def going there, because if that was the case every UFA born in canada or US would go to the team that is closest to their state, but they dont |

Started later and did not benefit from the post expansion offensive boom. Maybe Alfie will end up right beside him. |

Greatest playmaker of his generation....uh....Wayne Gretzky? Mario Lemieux?
The best passer you have ever seen? Oates was among the best sure, but dude, lets not sensationalize too much, especially when you would have had to live in a cave not to see the above two. |

Probably not. Alfie can't stay healthy
Sundin was more than a PPG player, Alfie is not.
Don't compare the two, they're in different leagues as players |

Id buy that, but unless he has a close NHL hockey friend playing for the Wild, its not happening. Players only sign elsewhere if there is a close friend there. |

Fun fact: Bure averaged about 65 points per season over 12 years. Wow.
I'm aware of his injury problems and whatnot, but there's no denying that his PPG is vastly inflated by the fact that he never played in the NHL during his decline.
Roenick's stats in his first 12 years only blow Bure clear out of the water. - Leeman4Gilmour
It might be a fun fact, but Bure was a sensational player in his prime. Roenick was not in Bure's league. If the HHOF was about stats, how in the world did a third liner like Richard Duff ever make it? |

That's the best post that has ever been written. It's brilliant. And your placement between the one above it and the one below it? Perfect fit.

Shanahan is definitely a hall of famer, but to be honest I would probably put all four of those guys before him.
Sakic is a no-brainer, Oates is brutally underrated and has been snubbed for several years now, Bure was more dominant at his peak and has also been snubbed for several years, and Sundin was more productive and more consistent for longer than Shanahan was.
Shanahan scored a lot of goals, won some Stanley Cups and was a crowd favorite wherever he went. But he doesn't have a slam-dunk Hall resume. In terms of his actual statistical performance, I think he's closer to being Keith Tkachuk than Joe Sakic.
EDIT: The only one I would maybe waffle over is Bure. But Sakic, Oates and Sundin are certainly more deserving than Shanahan in my opinion. - Sven22
Shanny is the 2nd player to have the most 20goal season in a row (19), in addition he is the only player in NHL history to score 600+ goals and have 2000+ PIMs.
Not to mention, he won a King Clancy and has 3 Stanley Cup.
Shanny is the prime example of power forward. |

Paris is 27, I'm sure he isn't interested in signing another contract after this.
He's getting a minimum $ 65M and possibly as much as $ 85M.... |

So Parise may re-sign in New Jersey, but he wants to be "the man" so he's likely to sign in Toronto or Minnesota, but then his rights might also be traded to an unnamed eastern conference team even though negotiations with Lou are still ongoing... |
