Hey Bill,
With the dearth of quality depth in net, do you think the Flyers would be interested in recently waived Alexander Salak or going back to Joacim Eriksson? Even if they picked one of the top goalies of this draft class, that player will be about 4-6 years away from contributing at the earliest. Salak is as ready as he'll ever be (had a solid training camp w/ Chicago last summer), and Eriksson isn't too far off from being NHL-ready. - Tomahawk

Interesting that they released him. |

Schultz said he wants to play in Canada!
Franson + 35th overall for PHL 20th overall? Tom Wilson should be available at 20 - khanlari
No interest in Tom Wilson. I think he'll be more Colton Gillies than Milan Lucic.

I would have no problems if this is the course the Flyers choose to take. Homer is going to add some pieces b/c no team ever stays exactly the same. I'm fine with upgrading the 3rd pairing and finding a 4th line center who can win draws and play on special teams. - stveshdy
I would be head over heels if that's the way they went. |

The story is that he was promised the back-up job, had a great camp, pretty much had it sewn up, but the 'Hawks got cold feet and brought in Emery as insurance instead. Salak was miffed and sulked through the 11-12 season in the AHL capped off by a Cechmanek-esque on-ice meltdown that pretty much ended his 'Hawks career.
If I recall, Pavelec was equally unhappy being continually stuck in the AHL, and all that bad-attitude talk went away the minute he won the starting job and never looked back. Salak has the potential to be a similar type of story. The talent and numbers are definitely there. |

I would sign him and trade Bob for a draft pick. I think the Flyers are looking for an upgrade behind Bryz. |

You mean he played stellar in goal while the dopes in front of him couldn't score if their lives depended on it? SIGN. HIM. NOW. |

What do you think of Sebastian Collberg should he be available? |

Not too interested. Have my doubts he'll be an NHL player.

I think if they stay at 20 they should have a decent amount of prospects to select from.

Who would you like the Flyers to select in that #20 slot? |

I would do that deal from PHI side.
But ignoring Schultz for a minute, would you do Gardiner for JVR straight up? Or which team would have to kick in the extras, and how much?
I was also thinking of a larger deal, which wouldn't really happen, but fun to speculate.
To Tor - JVR + B Schenn + Bob
To PHI - Gardiner, Kulemin, Tor 1st Rd Pick (#5).
OK, then totally dreaming, we trade #5 and #20 for EDM #1.

Depends on who is there obviously but
D - Olli Määttä, Hampus Lindholm, Slater Koekkoek, Matt Finn, Derrick Pouliot, or Brady Skjei
F - Brendan Gaunce, Zemgus Girgensons, Tomas Hertl, & maybe Henrik Samuelsson
G - Oscar Dansk before Malcom Subban |

On draft day will you toss out a name on who you'd think they'll take for a prediction? |

I could but it would be a guess that deep into the first round.

That's the fun part, it's a shot in the dark.
I like Koekkoek and would hope he is at #20 but I'll say it now I think it will be Matt Finn should they stick with the selection. |

With Poile stating he feels the Suter situation will not be resolved to July 1st, doesn't his situation effect Weber? I'm starting to believe Weber won't be moved at the draft, but not until Suter is signed somewhere. |

It probably does, Poile is in a really tough spot. |
