I have seen nothing to indicate that Staal is anything better than a third line forward. Yandle in my opinion is a top 20 dman. The prospect Pittsburg gives up better be 2 first round picks for this to balance.

How's that going to happen when Getzlaf, Nash and Luongo are all going to Toronto? Surely Schenn and Kulemin would have already been involved in one of those other obvious deals that will surely happen.

Good for Pittsburgh, but Staal becomes a UFA after next season. If it's a sign and trade, then yes, but not if he comes with only his current contract. That's a huge factor, hence the conditional 2nd rounder.
