Ron Cook of the Pittsburgh Post- Gazette picks the Pens in 5 because the big mean Flyers and their nasty fans pick on Sid and make him mad. LOL. I'm surprised he didn't predict a sweep. Homer.

EDIT: Heh...nice followup to wolfhounds post above mine. I hope Philly puts it all on the mental bulletin board and comes out with a major chip on the shoulder. Orpik says the flyers have feelings of "fear" and "jealousy" toward the Pens.

Drop the (frank)ing puck already. I can't take too much more of this tripe.

The Pens could very well win this series. But this guy is just a tool.

Favorite Pens Flyers moment came in the mid 90's when Ryan McGill fought Rick Tocchet in the pre-game skate.

what if the analysts actually think we're going to win but they just don't want to hear the penguins whine about it?

Possible, speaking out against the Penguins has proven an expensive affair

Except for the amazingly wonderful fathers who buy them for their little girls.

The first member of our family to know who the Beatles were was my dad. And we were the first kids on the block with the "Meet the Beatles" album.

If you are suggesting the Beatles did not make good music I'll have to suggest a 30-day in-patient facility for you.

Wow, somebody actually picked the Flyers to win.

Pittsburgh Penguins (4) vs. Philadelphia Flyers (5)

This is a tough series to call but the Pens have looked "off" in their last few games. I'm really starting to think all the nonsense taking place within the media (Milbury) and during press conferences (Tortorella) is staring to take a toll of the Penguins confidence. However, I do think if Pittsburgh gets past the first round the Cup is theirs to lose. Too bad for Pens fans I don't think they will. Flyers in 7.

No. I was referring to those amazing dads that bought Justin Bieber CD's for their kids. Whining kids are easier to handle than that kid's terrible "music"

What ever happened to buying your kids a nice book or a violent video game instead?

I don't see how the media can effect an entire team's confidence. In fact I think all of this talk in the media fuels Crosby. All of the talk about him whining inspires him and revs him up. The best thing for the Flyers is for the subject matter to change.

It has just as much chance of getting refs to at least take a double take when Crosby gets stick happy... They dont like being called out, and now Torts drew attention to it, they might not have a choice but to call it.

I also think all this Pens is the best can motivate the Flyers. Nothing like being the under-dogs to make you play harder.. and when your already a good team, almost evenly matched... it could be enough.

I owe all my exceptional hand-eye cordination to video games... It's too bad kids are going to lose this with all the Kinect and Wii games... I just dont get it... Come inside and play soccer "like real" on your video game... OR just go outside and play REAL SOCCER.

The Flyers are going to play hard regardless just as they have all year, and have played well all year against the Pens. Far too much is being made of the officiating. The players are going to decide the Series. And all this talk in the media isn't going to influence the officials. It's just talk.

Talk is cheap, I can agree to that. I'll even agree that Sid feeds on the criticism, he has for years. I do believe, though, that the Flyers have and will continue to benefit from the chippy, "personal" way these games have been. They've gotten under Penguins' skins, rustled their feathers so to speak, and it's allowed them to usurp hefty leads this season.

Of course, such a factor won't mean squat without hard played hockey to accompany it, which I'm confident it will.

I think Malkin is a player that you can get in his face and get him to take penalties. And I definitely agree that the Flyers have to play that way to be effective. Give too much space and free reign to Malkin and Crosby and they will kill you. The Flyers just can't be taking too many penalties themselves.

+1, Malkin's shown to be both a monstrous threat offensively, and a player who can be taken off his game with chippy play. As for Crosby, he's shown even he'll give in and slash players, he won't get away with it everytime. Bolded statement will be key, overall, the Penguins won't waste PP opportunities.

Bryz sets the tone, obvious I know, but he's gotta be the MVP.

And I agree with everyone they can win, but gun to my head I think the Pens win with their Special Teams play in 6 or 7.

This season has been gravy considering the amount of rookies that have played and losing one of the top 3 defensemen in the game. Im proud of what these guys have accomplished and you just know they'll fight till the end, and may end up on top for their efforts.

Unfortunately, that is going to be key and I believe that the refs will want to have their hand in the outcome of this series....
