It absolutely was a cheap shot on Sidney Crosby but... why no mention by anyone of Malkin punching Giroux's face into the ice in the corner? That was much more of a cheap shot than a lame crosscheck to the back.
With that said, not sure how this rivalry stacks up around the league but as a Flyers fan it is definitely my favorite one. It has everything.
it was just frustrating to see briere lose the handle on the puck and then vitale make no attempt to play the puck..definently clean though - Saux21
It is what happens now days, it sucks, we lost Letang to that exact same issue against Dallas, if the player plays for the puck and not the player, that doesnt happen.
how? vitale lays a 100% clean hit, the flyers come after him and the rest of the penguins respond. - SuperHenderson13
I am referring to the fact that when your team loses its all about how the Flyers got under your skin and you lost your focus or because of our after the whistle behavior. I see the same thing come from Pittsburgh its ridiculous to say those type of things when they do it too. Your absolutely right it was a clean hit, but your coach also put a bunch of 4th line guys out there for a reason and it wasn't for scoring goals.
He flung himself forward, almost diving as soon as he felt the push from behind. That crosscheck by Schenn there IS the definition of a love-tap crosscheck. It's just hilarious to me how he's the ambassador for the game yet cheapens it with this try to sell the play game. - Pixote Andolini
He flung himself forward? Truly an absurd comment. Come on don't embarrass yourself like that. It's more hilarious to think that you actually believe what you wrote.
This would be as dumb as a Penguin fan saying that Crosby's slashes in the game were just love taps as well and didn't deserve a penalty when clearly they should have been called.
What happened out there was a ceremony. Schenn and Cooter becoming real Flyers. Schenn for murdering Crosby on a cross check to the back and Cooter for being an all around pain in the ass to Shrek

Crosby embellished the cross check, that was a crap play on Shenn's part. Both Crosby and Malkin pulled enough cheap crap away from the puck and after the whistle to have ZERO room to cry or complain. The hit on Briere which was clean, came after several cheap shots and penalties that were not called that he was on the receiving end of.
Again, I lost some respect for the Pens today, and it is a shame...but it will make for a great playoff series.

david steckel says hi. he didn't get suspended after the crosby hit
if the hit was dirty, then the flyers going after vitale is okay. but when it's a clean hit, you do what briere did which is get up and keep going.
i never understood BOB and the penguins. really good against us. if Bryz plays against us Saturday and loses, does BOB start in the playoffs? - SuperHenderson13
because steckel did nothing to warrent a suspension, he didnt even make a hitting motion
but the fact pens fans thought he should have been suspended was pretty funny, let alone they let crosby play the next game
Gina Malkin headhunts Giroux. Cyndy Crysby breaks a couple of sticks on Flyers. Kristine Letang throws an elbow at MAB's head and the Pens are whining about Shenn's cross check? HAHA
I don't know why the Pens fans are upset about Lavy calling Bylsma Gutless! What people don't understand is the name Bylsma translated actually means GUTLESS!!
