If the Oilers are true to their rebuilding plan they should have played as many of the kids as possible. They aren't in contention for anything and it makes no sense for vets that are borderline NHL player to be taking ice time from kids that they need to develop.
I'm also tired of the be patient line. Of course fans need to be patient but it's hard when you watch some of the vets go through the motions when there are youngsters who would play their hearts out every night.
If they're going to finish near the bottom it's better to do it with effort and excitement as opposed to some of these long in the tooth vets that have been polishing their golf clubs since the new year. |

Richard Cloutier: Are Oilers Brass Getting a Free Ride? - Maxbone
I think it may be too late for some of the kids. Some are probably already thinking get me to F**k out of here. Losing has been a way of life for the Oilers and their fans for way longer than the past 2 years. It's only a matter of time until the fans quit buying. It will be too bad if it has to go that far for Katz to take action and remove some of the dead wood from the Organization. As for giving the G.M. and Coach new contracts or extensions-bullpoop is what I say. You should not be rewarded for failing. |

I don't live in Edm, I don't have a job where I can just search all day and read every idiot that pixelates words onto a screen, but seriously where did you hear this? Sounds more like you are making it up. |

The fact that Theo Peckham was still playing after taking two dumb penalties nevermind the third shows me that the coaching needs to start using it's brain. They have no problem benching the kids if their shift is to long, but they refuse to bench players who are not using their brains. |

Concerning lastnights game, I have no problem throwing a bunch of blame on Peckham. 3 stupid penalties which lead to 2 powerplay goals for the Habs. Yes, Yes he hits but he has to stop taking stupid penalties plain and simple!!!

Plus he was on the ice for one or two of the goals. I wanted to cut the kid some slack, but the fact is we have 8 d-man on this roster. If you want to continue to play you need to make smarter plays.
I'm also not one to call out Renney, but Schultz needs more ice-time. I know he is new to the system, but he needs to be out there more. |

As for your point, well that's kinda what Zombie has been saying all year. Not Renney's fault that management isn't giving him the proper tools. |

I don't know what the case is here, but Renney has been known to sit Dubnyk because of Dubnyk's effort in practice. |
