I see there is a conflict of interest here on these forums!
Anyways, long story short... Enroth had a shutout last time he played against the Canes, also the last time he was in, wasn't exactly his fault that 3 goals went in so quickly. Team couldn't care less that night. |

and the worst part is that no one will comment on this blog for some reason. Even though Kevin puts some thought and effort into it, people choose to comment on Garth's illegible poop. |

I'm just thrilled he has grasped the whole concept of spell check and proof read before posting. What a novel idea.
Doesn't matter who gets the cage because we are going to rock them like they're hurricanes! Boo-yah! |

Kevin Freiheit: Give Miller some much needed rest - KevinJames
Screw that Miller is supposed to be a super star goalie who gets payed like one. He has been hot for weeks now. I would ride miller right into the playoffs just like any other team with a star goalie would do. Points are too crucial right now and simply put as well as Enroth has played at times we can not take the chance of having a loss, because our backup goalie started when 2 points right now can decide if you make the playoffs or not. Ryan Miller has only started 47 games this year which is ranked 17th among starting goalies in the nhl this season. There are 11 starting goalies who have eclipsed 50 games played this year. Out of a total of 30 Nhl teams Miller is in the middle of the pack. I would ride him into the sunset. |

No, not at all.
Miller is our superstar goalie, but he's a human. He is going to need rest. We have rode him to the ground before, and it didn't work out. If you want him to perform at his best, you can't play him as much as possible. Quality beats quantity.
Remember that Miller was injured and missed seven games after the Lucic hit. Besides that, Miller really isn't that far behind the leaders for games played by goalies.
Plus, we have a decent back up now. Enroth hasn't played much, but certainly deserves the opportunity to.
Besides, he is 2-0-0 with a 0.49 GAA and a .986 SV% against the Hurricanes.
I don't understand how the Sabres don't start him tonight. |

First
Garth is an idiot.
Second, and more important...
Enroth should go tonight. Carolina is the weaker team. Tonight should be an easy win. Out.your star goalie in tomorrow against the better team... Miller needs some rest. By doing this, Buffalo maximizes its shot at 4 points while giving Miller a breather. |

Exactly. After tomorrow, the Sabres don't play back-to-back games until the 23rd/24th.
If Enroth started tonight, Miller could go the next eight games without playing on back-to-back nights. |

Yep
Classic Lindy mismanagement. Cant we fire this guy? The league continues to pass us by and we keep doing the same things over and over. |

I agree. However the unknown variable in the equation is we are assuming the 5 players in front of the goaltender will score more than 2 goals. They flat-out can't score, it will bite them in the ass sooner rather than later. They look like a bunch of monkeys humping a football out there just trying to create something in the offensive zone. |

late November. |

Yet another example of Miller telling Lindy what he should do. If Miller has no faith in Enroth, neither will Ruff.
This seems to be a case of Miller fearing that Enroth will take his job if he performs well. Instead of mentoring and supporting his would be successor, he is holding him down.
He would make a great corporate manager. |

I said it in another thread: If the Sabres/Enroth can't beat a team that went into OT the night before, then they have no business making a run for the playoffs. |

I agree with your first comment, but to play devils advocate, Staal has been tearing it up lately and we need the hot hand to help shut him down. Plus if it is an easy 2 points it will be easier with Miller, theoretically. |

Well don't bother saving any money for the playoff tickets because I don't think they'll win tonight. |

With this team, in this league there are no such things as 'easy 2 points'. |

It's inevitable. And you are correct. If he goes out tomorrow and gets shelled it's all over but the crying. |
