The problem is Carter is not going to net them a decent return compared to what they gave up. They are taking a net loss on that one no matter what. - Gunner Staal
definitely. the effort was there on that one, but that was trouble from the start. being from philadelphia, i cannot understand other people's infatuation with carter. i understand the numbers may appear there, but he is simply not a player you win with. |

He scored 50 goals in a season. Low cap hit for a young player who hit 50 but problem is the contract was for 10 years and he gets injured often and sucks. Now no one will take that contract on |

Colombus is just a poorly run team. They've made the playoffs once in their existence and got swept. 11 or 12 years in and they're still a last place team and not alot to show for all their sucking. Johanssen looks like a good one but how is that all you end up with after losing so much? Brassard, Zherdev and Mason set them back big time. If I'm Nash you couldn't get me to the airport fast enough if a deal was made in principle to go anywhere, except Long Island. |

This kid has bad luck. I was hoping he would go crazy in Denver this year and be in WB next year. |

i think the highest he ever got was 46. although im sure he tried very hard to get those last 4 with utter disregard for everything else going on around him on the ice. he is fairly young, and yes the cap hit is low but the sheer length of that contract makes it a bad one. i do admit he was kind of hosed by the flyers, as at the time that deal was slightly discounted. i know this horse has been beaten to death, and i know numbers are what they are, but they simply did not reflect him as a player |

How about Edmonton for Nash, you would think they have stock piled enough pieces to make that work. They need to make the playoffs soon with that talent |

similar to how goligoski could put up a few points in a game or two and still just have such a negative impact on the game for the penguins. thats really the best way i could put it... yeah he had a goal but he forced 9 shots to have it happen, and yeah he has the size to be a physical defender, but only using it when you feel like it is insulting to the players such as vitale who are half his size going 100 mliles per hour |

sorry for the rant on this by the way. the trade of those 2 was the cause of such drama this passed summer, and caused a great deal of bleating from the uninformed masses |
