Latest from Eklund has Pens in on Visnovsky. Hmm... That could be a real domino starter I would think.

He makes 5.6 mil, not sure if he has any years left on his deal. Seems pricey, pending on what would go the other way. Would almost have to be the whipping boy, (Martin)

I can't think of a player we need less than Visnovsky. Don't get me wrong, he's a hell of a player, but not what we need in the slightest.

You want to hear a funny one, I hear that Gaustad wants 3M/yr.
- Gunner Staal

He's terrible. He should be forced to give some of his salary back, as should Leino.

Lots of people tweeting that the Rick Nash situation is chainging quick in C-bus (Dregger, LaBrun, etc). Hope he stays out West. When motivated, he is a beast.

This trade is a franchise make/break for Columbus, if they would screw it up, it might be the death knell there

As a hockey fan I am just happy that he might land somewhere that matters and that he can be the player everybody always knew he was.

Visnovsky is signed for another year at 5.6M. It makes no sense at all for us given the Neal situation. Nor does it make sense for Anaheim. As I have said before, they have a nice amount of cap room to make their changes next year. They aren't your classic "cellar dweller" they are in a much better spot, given that they already have the pieces that most teams would love to rebuild with.

Sounds similar to when all the Leaf fan wanted the Penguins to give them Malkin for Gunnarson, Giguere, Kadri and first rounder. Three things that the Penguins don't need.

Based on their past history, it would be hard for them not to screw it up. One of the Pensblog guys earlier tweeted about how bad this team has been managed. Just looking at their team on Capgeek, there are some bad signings there.

Sorta reminds me of the Pirates. Bad moves have set damaged the franchise over the years, and because of that, they need to overpay to get anyone else to come there.

Everyone (Pens fans included) love to package their spare parts, or their overpaid/underachieving players for quality players in return.

agreed. it's a bit more of the same that currently makes up the roster. i didn't get to finish my earlier post so just deleted it. Pesky authors and their questions here at work.

He would look good in a Pens uniform if there weren't so many similar players on the roster already (was what I was thinking)

I know, I just find it funny when people attempt to attach pieces to a deal that have no fit on the team that they are dealing with.

It might be my biggest pet peeve on here.

Have respect for the other team involved in the deal. You need to ask yourself, if the shoe was on the other foot, would you do it?

My rule of thumb is that the hesitance to give up your player should match the excitement of the return coming back, unless it is a salary dump kind of deal.

I agree, but the only problem with that line of thinking, is that it would have ruled out the Whitney - Kunitz/Tangradi or Goligoski - Neal/Niskanen deals lol

Unless your talking about trading GoGo for Neal and Niskanen.
