but then again if he were to go, you know thered be many teams interested. i think you could easily get a team to overpay for him
- drummer829

yeah true. i just feel that sense of overpayment will come from a team on the free agency market such as toronto that throws close to 6 mil a year at him

Who would be your 3rd line center then? Not Vitale... Kennedy back to Center?
- PensMalkin71

I'd rather worry about filling the third line center spot than the gaping holes that Neal and Letang would leave.

Just a down the road conversation, but Neal and Letang have to be considered core players.

i definitely think nisk is as good as gone. he has played well, but will be able to get much more than we can afford to give him.

oh sure respond to that post

but ya like that

- nh4442

Not sure what you are talking about.

Crosby, Staal, Dups, Cooke, Adams, and Lovejoy are all UFA! Dang I hope we don't lose dups that summer.

i dont know how to explain it because i know thats what he is but ive never really viewed staal as simply a third line center. letang and neal are definitely core players, perhaps above staal, but he surely is close

dupes seems to catch a lot of crap on this site haha. i realize he isnt exactly the best finisher, but for under 2 he is a very good fit for this team.

Good PK'r, great skater. Not ideal, but can transition to a top 6 player when needed. Don't need to sell me. Of all the UFA's last year, he was the one I wanted to keep.

The Kings are in trouble. Sometimes if the pressure is so great even conserative GM's can make mistakes. Cue Billy Joel's 'Pressure'.

It is tough to speculate with the new CBA looming. I hear whispers of another amnesty clause that will allow teams to get rid of one contract on their team.
- Gunner Staal

This is going to be an interesting summer. It is easy to think that the usual 1 July deals will be delayed with this looming. I'm surprised that the CBA expires in September and not 30 June.

Habs look like they can win 5 straight if they hold on this game. What do you guys think? Habs buyers or sellers?
- PensMalkin71

The Habs have too much ground to make up. They are epically stupid if they aren't sellers.

It's been the Eric Staal show in the 3rd. Lars Eller jawing with Gleason was comical. Not likely he would have been so vocal without the linesman between them. It would be difficult for the young lad to speak clearly with Gleason's fist buried in his mouth.
