i dont even want to deal with that now....hes a +5mil D....

all i need is neal kuni geno sid staal letang orpik despres and flower.... dont care about the rest.. could be scrubs...

- nh4442

id love it if letang stayed around 5. i worry he will approach 7. i mean i know you need depth, but unless we get lucky with some entry level deals that pan out it will be hard to have any other quality pieces under the cap, so scrubs it may have to be...

I'm not tryin to be a debbie but wasn't Caputi a untouchable? if not he was a high prospect. Anything is possible is all i'm saying
- nateca44

I never heard the term untouchable associated with Caputi.

if shero can stagger guys for the next couple of yrs we are good to go... that way no two main players have a contract expire around the same time and he can get rentals or trades like neal/nisk all the time how do u not say we are front runners...

i really think martin wont be around when they sign letang. he will be the first to go, and then possibly michalek depending on how our prospects develop. orpik will probably be getting a pay raise too

im not saying we arent. those players listed, if all healthy, are quite a force. sprinkle in energy guys such as vitale and were set. however, the ability to keep everyone together will be a tall task. and as always, the crosby question is still the 800 pound gorilla

My friend and I we're talking about Staal. Love him for what he brings, but I'm wondering if he'll ultimately be sacrificed to keep Neal and Letang. Got to say, I think Neal and Letang are MUST keeps.

What about Niskanen you think we keep him or let him go... Do you think he wants a pay raise, personally i would let him go for a better defensive guy.

Well he has Malkin staggered away from Crosby. He also has Letang and Orpik staggered away from Martin and Michalek. There does seem to be a rhyme and reason to most of it.

Who would be your 3rd line center then? Not Vitale... Kennedy back to Center?

It is tough to speculate with the new CBA looming. I hear whispers of another amnesty clause that will allow teams to get rid of one contract on their team.

i love staal. his defense is great and he seems to be finding offense. people forget how young he is. however, if he is looking for a big raise he might not be able to be retained. id keep him at his current salary every day of the week though.

but then again if he were to go, you know thered be many teams interested. i think you could easily get a team to overpay for him

With Despres ready I think that Niskanen will be gone. nothing against him but he seems like he would be the odd man out.
