I have a serious feeling that 5 teams ahead of us made a big mistake passing up couturier. He's got Joe Thornton written all over him.

So basically the Flyers trade Mike Richards for a player said to play like Mike Richards, Then they traded Jeff Carter for a 1st round pick, that they used to pick a future Jeff Carter.

I like Nodl's game. I'm not too impressed with Wellwood. You know who I wish never got injured? Jon Kalinski.

Trade or pick one up via UFA... with 12 forwards young guys are exposed as much as the young defensemen. They don't need one now, Homer does a good job of fulfilling needs.

prongers iffy, but we still have lots of time.

right, which would make him ready for 12-13, which what the original poster aked for. no?
- hammarby31

Yeah, i see his ceiling as a top 4 guy.

The guy put up 49 points in 72 games on a pathetically bad Phantoms team.

There is no possibility of that.

Would you have preferred the Flyers take the big dman considering the age they have on the blueline?

Nodl is a much better NHL player at this point.
- MJL

Is passing and playmaking his forte? From what they're saying he's more of a hard nose defensive player with some offensive ability.

from a business standpoint and the age of your core players, why the (frank) would you trade for a future Richards and Carter, when your window to win it all is now?

I will preface this by saying that I really have no idea about any of these players. Prospects are not my deal. But it does make sense to add a blue chip defensive prospect when they now have Schenn and Giroux.

Couturier is supposedly listed at 197 pounds by the draft guys. If he can put on about 10 pounds I think he may be able to play in the NHL next season.

Yikes. He's Fricken BIG!
Also is courtierier Considered Canadian, or American? He tried out for Team Canada, born in Canada, but parents are American I think?
Same thing with this kid. If he wants to win, he'll choose Canada, and if he wants to lose, but get more minutes, he'll go to the US.
