Well, Couturier has huge two-way upside. Would have preferred a D pick, given the organizational needs in the system.

He's strong on the puck, just as good defensively as he is offensively needs to gain some pounds (which can be done ).

they just know they'll (frank) up the D pick no matter who it is, so they just figure they'll get their man from somebody else down the line.

There's no way he should have been there at 8. I liked Hamilton a ton, but Courturier is a stellar value at number 8

IMO they just decided to take the best player available and im ok with that strategy.
