You think that's bad? On the way home yesterday, the radio options were:

WIP: Anthony Gargano & Ike Reese
Fanatic: Missanelli & Dutch Daulton

Even a few seconds hearing these idiots talk Flyers... just

Given the choice, I'd stick with the old Foreigner tape stuck in the tape deck over 95.7 or 610.

If that's how you look at it. The guy was a fixture on the team, to lose all interest in him less than 24 hours after being traded is a little quick for me. I still want to hear what he has to say.
- funmaster18

I'd rather hear from the new guys being brought in.

I've waited to hear anything of substance for years while Mike was captain, but didn't. No desire to hear what he has to say now.

I'll sum it up: "the fans were great and I'll miss them, I wish the team well, the Flyers organization was terrific to me"...blah, blah, blah.

Turn the page.

I do think Versteeg will be traded and the Flyers will move from #8 to #3. Makes too much sense for both teams. It is kind of funny how I can be so happy that finally after 20 years of frustration with the team not being proactive with goaltending, it is now pretty much an afterthought.

Both Richards and Carter will be missed, I have to wait until after July 1st to make final conclusions.

I haven't been this excited in a long time for the Flyers
- funmaster18

the most excited i've been in the last 10 years was the day they acquired forsberg. i remember i almost drove my car off the road when i heard it on the radio. unfortunately, that didn't end all that well. they did get ryan parent for a spell out of it, so it wasn't all bad.

I actually don't. I just tuned into each momentarily in futile hope they'd cover Homer's PC.

Bill, what kind of salary will Simmonds receive? $2M? Under $2M? Hopefully not over $2M.

Definitely doesn't sound like a guy that was excited to be traded. At least it's LA and not Columbus...

It took them nearly an entire minute to ask him, "How do you feel about reporting you hear during the offseason?"

Wayne Simmonds's qualifying offer is for $577,500.

So that's the bare minimum... I expect it to be much higher.

I don't get the Voracek ripping. He's had a 50 point season at the age of 20 yrs old playing for a bad team. What do people expect a 19 yr old to come to Columbus and be a 40 goal scorer right off the bat?

The fact Voracek had a 50 point season so early in his career playing with less than stellar talent means this kid can be very good.

- PLindbergh31

OR he had a lot of opportunity because nobody else was capable...
