Regular season Trochek was awesome. Post season Trochek is another level. Despite Panarins incredible year, if we add up regular season and post season, he is definitely the MVP for the Rangers. I love that he doesn't get rattled and talks poop all game

Me? No I'm beyond happy/complimentary of Laviolette. Laf is on the ice and is huge part of that win because of Lavi.

It's so eerie the similarities from it being 30 years later. The fact we've won the first 7 playoff games like 94. I def had many mini heart attacks in the Devil & Vancouver series * I was 17 almost 18 then, Can't take that sh!t at 47 now but looking forward to
seeing what happens. It's the Rangers Cup to lose

Yea that is definitely an advantage. Canes are very predictable. It’s a good game plan every game but they never deviate from it and the opponent kind of knows exactly what to expect. Give them all the shots they want and just let the goalie see it and you’re generally in good shape. Isles had two other wins in the bag and they blew it, so they are overrated imo and the coach is too

Let's maybe wait until being up 2-0 or 3-1 in the cup finals to bust that line out. McJesus will have something to say about the cup this year I feel like

On ice defense/offense is just basically expected goals for an against while on the ice.

I was about to write up that I don't fully agree with HST's outlook on Trouba last night. I personally thought he was great. Especially defensively. What really killed him is that he was om the ice for the goal against be he was the only one actually trying to defend.

- blacksheep1

Trouba wasn't noticeable last night in a good way, no stupid penalties or bad turnovers. I think Lavy told him to tone it down and be more responsible.

The key to the game was getting out of the first period down 1-0, where it could’ve been 2-0 at least. Then getting the next goal before the canes did. They did a really good job of weathering the storm of chaos. I had a little gut rot seeing those PPs go by the wasteside with nothing. But this teams MO all year is not panic and be very opportunistic, and the finishing ability of these guys is such a breath of fresh air after all those years where we couldn’t. Even last year we struggled to finish plays in the net

I thought his physicality was noticeable. He had a stretch of 5 or so minutes (maybe 2 shifts?) where he was playing a heavy brand. I think it happened during a Canes push. Then he rocks Tony D and draws a penalty. Momentum shifts like that are needed to make long runs in the playoffs.

Trouba will never be fully embraced because he makes bad plays but the grunt work he does is invaluable. He’s very intimidating just being out there and he’s fearless which some guys are just not wired like that

Oh I thought he was noticeable in mostly good ways. Even on the first goal against. He's trying to cover 2 Canes in front the net. He threw 3 or 4 big clean hits. He goaded DeAngelo into taking a stupid penalty. And he was just making simpler plays all night. I though he had good game.

Wonder if Trouba hits Towes like Benn did if there would be an attempted murder charge

I think ideally we play Boston next rd, Florida would be a tougher out imo. Then the west avoiding the Avs would help. It’s hard not to believe right now, they’re like playing like a champion does. The 94 stuff and symmetry has merit too, I believe in that sorta thing

I want none of Swayman. It's a real Sophie's choice.

Did ESPN or TNT not show that during the game? Sportsnet showed it live last night and I got so fired up. SN's broadcast is much better than the national US broadcasts, imo. Although Kenny is good

I think we would still want Bruins. Florida has Tkachuk and Barkov, which is a greater disparity to Boston than Swayman is over Bobrovsky.

TNT showed the reverse angle of Laf going to the boards with his name plate to the camera.

It was great listening to Kenny last night, not because he a Ranger fan, he is just so professional like his dad.
