Max is 29 years old and his goal total was cut in half last year. The price is way too high hear if the information is accurate. No thanks |

I don't think he plays C in SJ... Josh Norris would be the guy I'd insist on - obie
Yeah, that would be a problem. If he hasn't played at center the last 3 years, Bergevin needs someone else.
I would also prefer a high end prospect. I don't think there's a good fit between these 2 teams. |

The info is anything but accurate. Max will score 30+ again this season, on a good team. |

There's a fit for sure, Max Pacioretty for Josh Norris straight up! If he's extended SJ can add |

This isn't the expansion draft, you're not getting a bargain. |

Likely closer to 40 on a good team with a real C. |

Make that 40+ if he plays with a half decent centre. He’s never had that luxury in Montreal.
I’d be calling Chia-pet and tell him the story of how well McJezus and Max would play together, going for the scoring title and the play-offs. Woohoo !!!
All that for the price of RNH. :-)

They don't need a first or a 2nd for next season, that is my point. You seem to think it's a problem short term while I don't. Picks or prospects should come back or a very young player. ROR was too old for the rebuild. Never mind trading away assets that they need for the rebuild. - deadpoulet
(frank) picks. not interested in picks. young guys or near-ready prospects is what they should be looking at. generally when you're getting picks back as the main part of the deal, you've lost the deal. |

I agree, I'd take the prospect over the picks |

30 maybe next season if he is in the right situation, but what about the following years? 40+?? His highest ever total is 39. Max has been a good player, but he is not that elite. I’m not saying he isn’t worth acquiring for a team on the cusp of winning, but don’t over pay for a guy who is on the down turn. |

I'd say Kotkaniemi and Poehling are more like 2-3 - obie
Maybe you never know with the prospects I am sure they will need more than a center in 2-3 years they have to rebuild their D as well.

Borgstrom plus a 1st? - elcabong
That is crazy for Flordia to do they don't need to include the first rounder maybe something else. Besides MTL is dealing from a position of weakness they might have to wait fort he deadline or take what they can get as he is UFA next year and goes to FLA anyway |

you would be lucky to get Borgstrom - Symba007
A proven 30 goals scorer, a top 5 in goal scored the past 5 year can’t even fetch you a prospect who has played what, 4-5 games in the big league? I like Borgstrom but seriously?
Habs fans are getting worse than their own team, that’s a tour de force! |

A position of weakness like Sakic last summer? I can live with that. 👍 |

Don't worry, we had to put up with that stuff when Kessel was still here...and he still gets pooped on. Something about American wingers that people just seem to not like. |

Vilardi being the obvious choice but it will cost more than Pacioretty |

Pretty confident considering neither has played a game in this league, hope the organization isn't as optimistic as you are and think it has solved the problem at C, need to add at least 1 more - obie
I love how the team drafts a guy third overall and you project him to be a #2 centre without ever seeing him play.
I have no idea what he'll end up being, but I sure as hell won't write him off being a #1 centre before seeing what he can do. |

Nobody is writing him off, just need to add one more C, don't get too upset over it, it's too damn hot for that! And I have seen him play... |

He is a Habs, he is done. Seems like the modus operandi of a lot of people lately, the same that were crying for a rebuild. Go figure... |

Don't worry, nothing on this site can upset me.
But wouldn't you say if they dared draft him at #3 that they project him to be a #1 centre in the NHL? Wouldn't that make sense?
I've only seen him at the world junior, in which he played well enough. So I don't see why you'd pencil him more as a #2 except being a grumpy smurf. |
