What does Myers bring to a team trading for him? I havent kept up with his value lol and what would need to come back ? Im not suggesting any teams just curious what his role would be on a team trading for him and what that would cost. |

He's a top 4 RHD but with Buff and Trouba where do minutes go? The thing is he's a UFA after next season and his salary is 3.5 million while the cap hit is 5.5 million.

Never mind trading Myers.
EK and Anderson want out of OTT. MelRichard wants Ryan Bobby to go in the deal.
Trouba, Mason, Perreault and Danzero for EK, Andy and Bobby
Take the Wobby Cryan contract on instead of giving up the first. |

So we didn’t have a first round pick, we didn’t trade Myers, Enstrom is not coming back. Listen Jets fans, not sure what part of the city you are in but FYI the sky is not falling in North kildonan. |

But if it did fall North Kildonan gets hit? That's a win as far as I'm concerned.

Sky looks fine from the beautiful and upcoming Mountain/McGregor area. |

He can play a game looking like a top pair guy, and follow it up with a game that resembles a 7th defenders. I get anxiety at the thought of watching him on his off-side with Buff.
Completely agree offloading his AAV would ease some tension, but in my opinion that's not the primary reason, it's more a benefit. A 6'8", right shooting Dman, that can man the PP, coming off 38 points, and under 30.... He also played 82 games (better than good chance he plays <60 games next year). Unless he's willing to take a Teemu in Colorado type deal, it's unrealistic to think the Jets resign him next.summer.
His value will never be higher, defensive liabilities aside, moving him this summer needs to happen... The Cherry.. Chevy gets to add to the already ridiculously lopsided trade with Buffalo.
I guess the east needs an Edmonton to.

And... I want Niku opposite Buff, like Morrissey.. put in a position to succeed. |

If Niku and Poolman start the year well I’m sure there will be takers for Myers in season |

Since this thread is about the draft I'll make a couple of observations. Chevy seems focused on the third and fourth lines. In particular big centers who have strong defensive skills. With all the defencemen taken in the first two rounds it was a natural that Jets would go with a forward. Since most of our top six positions are pretty well locks for the foreseeable future going with strong defensive forwards is a good option.
I thought Chevy might attempt to move up a few spots in the second round or third rounds if someone really jumped out that he wanted and maybe add Dano as a throw in for jumping three or four spots. I'm guessing no one wanted Dano so it never happened. |

And what happens if he gets hurt in the first game, or first ten, or plays 10 20 games on his off side and grenades his value. Myers will never be more valuable than this July/August. PC is dieing for a RHD PP specialist, send guy who traded Seguin for a picture of Sir Elton John's left hand; Hart trophy winner for a Dman whose probably not even top 50 at his position nevermind best player in the league... Is
Myers is exactly what the Oilers desire, make it happen. |

Honestly I’d like them to move him to but if you want to play the guessing game, what happens if Trouba or buff suffer a major injury and Poolman and Niku don’t pan out? All of a sudden you re think the Myers move. |

Quiet draft for the Jets. No trades and nothing out of the ordinary. Just a draft to stock the pipeline and fill some holes 3-4 years for now. Likely the one steal for the Jets this draft might be Giovanni Vallati. A playmaking defenceman that partners with Logan Stanley on the PP for Kitchener. This kid has great vision mobility and could be a really good sleeper pick. It's hard to believe after a huge run on d-men that Vallati was still around by the 153 pick when ranked as high as 75th. |

If they're smart, they trade Myers to a team that has playoff aspirations, that probably won't make it for a first round pick. Bam back in the lottery. Cough Edmonton Cough

Thinking more about this. If Perrault can be traded for futures. A trade to get Karlsson and Ryan could occur.
To OTT: Jacob Trouba, Dmitry Kulikov, Bryan Little, Eric Comrie, Kristian Vesalainen, 2019 first round pick, 2019 third round pick, 2020 second round pick.
To WPG: Erik Karlsson, Bobby Ryan
With Stastny signed, the Jets line for next year could look like:
Connor-Schiefele-Wheeler
Ryan-Stastny-Laine
Ehlers-Petan-Roslovic
Copp-Lowry-Armia
Morrisey-Karlsson
Myers-Byfuglien
Chariot-Poolman

I think Pierre Snorion and Cyril Sneer take that deal from an Ottawa perspective.
Also agree about resigning Stastny, not bringing him back could really hurt.

That's a huge step backward.
It may help a little in the first year of the deal. Stasny is a small upgrade on Little, Little helps his team more than BR. Consider though that he has a no movement clause.
Those three contracts don't fit in the cap this year and give up Karlson on the second year as he hits UFA.
Year two of that trade the Jets have 0 depth left.
Count me out of that deal with predjudice.

Agreed. Bad trade.
The more and more I look at the Jets situation the more and more I realize that one of Perreault or Little or both are gone. Perreault has a NTC and Little's kick's in on July 1st. Jets definitely want Statsny so I think you could see him sign here this week. in the 5's. Love to get rid of Little's contract. Roslovic on the rise so as unpopular a move it would be with some Jets in trading Little , it is a business in the end.
I think Chevy should think about it this way. Even if we gave up Little for practically nothing we gain a better player in Stastny for basically free at a similar price. Its a wash but the Jets improve. However, I do think we could get something for Little even if its just a decent prospect. |

Unless Little wants out, I can't see Chevy trading him. |

The Jets have to move Myers now if we want Stastny. Mason and Kulikov are un-tradeable, Perreault is a massive value deal, and they’ll never be ballsy enough to move Little before his NTC kicks in.
Id also be moving Armia, Tanev, and even someone like Lemieux.
The first two are at their absolute peak right now, have younger and better players stuck below them, and will never have a market value this high again.
Lemieux still has the benefit of name recognition, so he should be moved before anyone really picks up on how ungood he is.
If you can walk into the season with this lineup, things will be looking good:
Connor-Scheifele-Wheeler
Laine-Stastny-Roslovic
Perreault-*Little*-Ehlers
Copp-Lowry-Dano
*Petan*
Morrissey-Trouba
Niku-Byfuglien
Kulikov-Poolman
Morrow
Hellebuyck
Mason
The ** signifies where Petan would be if Little was moved. Dano is just a better fit for that Lowry line, due to his hitty, puck possession style. |
