Is it just me or are the Penguins star players all in decline at the same time? Crosby Kessel, Gino, Letang…. I'm thinking a giant thud will be heard in PA this year
- Hardbalz

They are locked in at good AAV's, and the cap just keeps going up. Others teams will have to pay more for less for a few years still, even while those 4 slowly decline. There will definitely come a year when a giant thud is heard though..

Nah. Rust got beat up at the bus stop. Enough with those types of players.

Because he has a speech impediment? I wonder where those bullies are working now?

So I’ve been able to figure out two things. A) it was a fire (I assumed drunk driving) and B) one of them is in critical condition but it’s not Jordy. Man I really wonder what happened...

It was a house party and a fire broke out. I hate to say this and it's not meant with ANY humor, but I'd be it some stupid trick with fire, a flaming shot, etc..

Flaming drinks are something that shouldnt be tried outside a cocktail bar setting with professionals making it. My buddy once got pretty badly burned on his face because he (frank)ed up taking one of those.

Flaming drinks are something that shouldn't be done period. They're no safer in a bar than at home. I've seen that go terribly wrong because the person drinking it doesn't pay attention or do it right.

In essence, people are idiots and shouldn't be trusted with flammable items going toward their face.

You mean like they're all in decline right now?... Kessel just had a career year and Malkin had one of his best, he was in alot of talks regarding the Hart this year...Crosby had I guess a lesser year... I guess... He was still over a PPG.

They were gassed in the playoffs. Looked like they were skating in mud the last few games. I really think the Caps knew this and in the emlination game said they were just gonna play a 1-4 knowing that the Pens didn't have the juice to get being their defenders anymore. Wait for their chances. Worked to a tee.

That wasn't the fast up tempo Pens we'd grown accustom to the past few years... That was the Pens that just played a F load of hockey plus partied all of the offseasons the past two years on top of dealing with arguably the worst schedule in the league this season.. Not to mention some injuries..

I don't see any way possible they were getting through 2 more rounds, not after what I saw the last 2 games vs Caps. Lots of rest and no celebrating this summer. New and late additions to last season will have a training camp and full season. Pens chances of a cup are high again this year.

Don't bother. He's just a troll.

Btw Domi would've been another Rust with better hands and that would've been a good addition but not a can't miss deal.

I feel fine with Kessel coming back next year but I wish we could add 3 new faces with speed and steady D play.

If there's no police investigation probably means young guys/girls doing silly things. If there is a police investigation, it might mean some serious poop is going to go down when they get out of hospital.

Would have been nice to see Domi in a Pens jersey but not the end of the world. Honestly, I don't necessarily see this as a huge overpay for Montreal like everyone else does. Galchenyuk is talented but by the sounds of it, has been way too into the fun drugs. This honestly might have made both teams better.

Bellerive is a pretty good prospect, bulky forward. Think about Sid, Cooke, guys like this. Hopefully he and his buddies are OK.

This hurts MTL. MTL is already weak down the middle and got rid of the guy who could have been their 2C for a player who hasn't played much C at the NHL level.

Regardless, I was never super keen on the idea of getting Domi. IMO Galchenyuk will help the Yotes far more than Domi will help the Habs. Then again, I don't know who could help the Habs at this point. There are so many things wrong with that roster I don't even know where to start.

That team doesn't just need a rebuild, with two of the worst contracts in the league they need an overhaul.

Over half the hockey world does cocaine. If you think about it, the drug matches the sport perfectly, so yeah I would say there's an above average chance Galch does coke. But the real story here is that Galch has been inexplicably in the organizational doghouse since he got to Montreal. When that happens, people try to justify it with "character issue" narratives.

haha yeah, I kinda suspected that...I hadnt been here in a while, was feeling my edibles, felt like writing and figured why not respond to the only comment of the bunch that irritated me a bit.

As for the 3 new fresh speedy faces...Sprong will be a regular so I consider him to be checking off one of your 3 boxes.

I agree about Domi. I think he'd of been a great fit. Maybe the Pens and Habs should do a trade involving Patches/Domi and Brassard/Kessel...nah...well...depends on what other pieces. There'd have to be more going to the Pens. Not happening anyway.

So if we open up some space and make some trades who do you think we go after in free agency?

Do you guys think we will make a trade during the draft?

My guess they will make a rush at Grabner and Nash, but won't win the bidding war.

Maybe sign someone like Luke Schenn as a Defense option.

Pass on all those ideas. Grabber bomber for Jersey, Nash bombed in Boston and Schenn is slow and useless. I don’t expect the Pens to do much this summer at all. The will try and get a right shot bottom pairing dman and re-sign all of their RFA. Haglen will likely be a cap casualty and they will likely move one more winger to avoid losing anyone to waivers.

Madden just reported it was a fire pit accident. Somebody poured something on the fire. I imagine it was gasoline or something.

I didn't realize the NHL doesn't test for recreational drugs. Only performance enhancing drugs. However, I think your estimate of "half" is waaaaay too high. Pun intended.
