Great article Bill. I enjoy reading every day but have rarely commented.

I think this summer the team has a to address their 3c as most have commented. I think stastney would be a great option. It may cost them a bit more than they will want to spend but gives them an option that can move up the lineup if need be. I think if they could get evander can for a shorter term reasonable contract he would be a good pickup as the flyers need a goal scorer in the worst way and he can provide that for much less than it would normally cost.

As far as Wayne Simmonds, I think the guy has been great and would hate to see him leave. He has been a real heart and sole guy. However, he is going to get paid more in free agency than the flyers will/should spend both in dollars and term. Personally i would try to package simmonds and one of our first rounders for an earlier first round pick and target brady tkachuk. He is a big power forward with skill that will be able to step into the lineup and make an impact sooner than later.

I know its not popular but i think the goalies will stay the same next year with the hopes that if there are injuries in goal later in the year Hart has developed enough in the AHL that he can step in.

I think if we were somehow able to make these moves in the offseason we would be a legitimate threat in the east without mortgaging the future.

Once again, thanks for all the work through the season Bill!

whats the deal/plan with morin?

He was hurt a big chunk of this year and isn't playing now. He didn't play 20 games this year between the NHL and the AHL. It's a shame. He has some skill and his wingspan is huge. The big downside so far is he struggles on the off D and the Flyers have plenty of other lefty Dmen and somebody has to play RD.

The only thing I would add to that is another goalie, which I've said I don't expect them to do but wish they would. They have a number of options to go a long with Elliott, just no comfortable with the choices.

I understand the call for a goaltender, and they definitely need better play at that spot than they got in the playoffs. However, I'm confortable with Elliott. I think that if he wasn't injured, he would've played much better. I also think that Hakstol committed to Elliott and will stay with him. Neuvirth is a different story. He's just too injury prone. Not sure what they will do with that.
