Lehtera's ability doesn't merit any ice time at all, and yet he's out there killing crucial penalties instead of better, younger players. - Feanor
As bad as Lehtera has been, I still think, sadly, that he's better than Filppula. However, right now, the top 4 forwards on the PK should be: Couturier, Giroux, Raffl, and Laughton. Furthermore, I would use Patrick (who killed penalties regularly in Junior) before next, as my 6th option, going to Lehtera. I don't want to see Simmonds or Filppula killing penalties at all.
Would be nice if they tried something different on D too:
Start with Provorov/Gudas. Replace Gudas with AMac halfway through and give Sanheim a shot to play the last 15-30 seconds when Provorov goes off. Ghost should be the 5th option and Manning last.

I will say, if he can get to a puck, or get to a spot he’s usually doing something good. It’s that whole getting there part |

I did get a good laugh out of JJ saying (during the CAR timeout at the end) something along the lines of "Giroux will certainly be out there for this key moment" then Coots, Filppula, and Read skate out for the faceoff. |

Couturier wasn't special as a 19 year old defensively? You just want to omit what doesn't fit your narrative. It's pretty simple for every coach. If a players ability merits the ice time and usage then a coach will use him in that manner. You want to use two different standards. You're comment is disingenuous and quite frankly a bunch of bull. - MJL
You yet again prove that the only hockey you watch is NHL and specifically Flyers hockey. So yeah, keep making yourself look like a potato who is always willing to get on his knees to rationalize every decision this organization makes.
Keep doing you boo-boo. Life as a sociopath must be fun!
Nice grammar by the way. Next time you get banned, don't cry to the mods saying you're never coming back here. Its really not nice to get everyone's hopes up like that. |

I wonder what would have happened to Sanheim's TOI if he made this turnover. Why didn't MacDonald just rim the puck around the boards behind the net?

yes?
I thought the game was pretty clearly won by a few of the guys doing their best Greg Jennings impression and putting the team on their back |

coots was for sure and Hak by and large has handled the young en's very well. Has Hak had a double standard at times? yes, but then all coaches do. It is easy for us to cherry pick after the fact. Hexy and Hak will evaluate after the season, I believe HaK will make some adjustments next year, having a better more experienced roster will make it easier.
Each season the roster has gotten better, next year will be no different. It will be the year to see how Hak handles a very good NHL roster, they should not be a bubble team next year.
thoughts on next season-
Flip gone or signed as 4th line center, with Lethera on the roster, there should be no need for Flip, love him but bye bye. We should expect G and Coots to a lesser extent to put up less points, common after career years. This is not a bad thing as the depth on the roster should be getting more TOI and more points. I do believe the Flyers will look outside for a 3C, I know they have options but with expectations rising, I don't see them filling the 3C spot with an unproven player unless someone is just lights out in camp and pre-season. If there is someone who makes sense they will make a pitch for them. The
On the D, we all know that Manning and Gudas need to be addressed. I would look for a good D to play second pair minutes with SanHeim, put AMAC on the 3rd pair with Morin or Myers, whoever earns it. I know a 2nd line D wont be easy, it might have to be a 3rd pair and let AMAC continue with SanHeim.
In goal, I would make a play for Holtby unless, Moose is just lights out Saturday and in the playoffs. I hope Stolarz is healthy and can backup. I pray Neuvy retires due to be physically unable to play

i think its a wash. raffl scored sure but whos to say TK wouldn't. also raffl always complements G well. i think they won because they came out with a fire under their asses. if elliott hadnt been so rusty its easily a 4-1 game |

Not unless someone gets injured.
The coach is comfortable with Hagg as a player. But pair him with another defenseman, and the coach isn't so comfortable.
Therefore, the player that makes the coach comfortable will take a seat, while the player that makes the coach uncomfortable when paired with Hagg will continue to see steady ice time.
Makes perfect sense. |

I'll leave moose out, I think Hak had to play him.
Raffle was good, that was offset by TK being somewhat muted due to the change. Laughton was good but that highlights the mistake Hak made sitting him against the Isles. Weal or Lethera, Lethera or Weal, against the Canes Lethera was the right call, against the Ranger, a faster team? I like Lethera, I dont think the Flyers have a need for Lethera and Flip in the lineup against faster, skilled teams.
I think the Flyers won because their best players were just that their best players.
They were keeping the puck out of their own end, even Gudas and Manning. |

What I proved is how ridiculous your statement is with facts. The fact that you had to turn around and reply in this manner as well as moving on to grammar, just reinforces how strongly I refuted your false narrative.
