All depends on what the Blues do tonight at Chicago. Those teams hate each other's guts so you can pretty much throw their records out the window. If the Blues lose in regulation tonight, they are really up against the wall and would need to beat Colorado in regulation to get in. No matter what happens tonight though, if the Avs beat the Blues Saturday in regulation, the Blues are out.

As much as we are pissed about the Isles game, imagine how Blues fans are feeling after losing back to back in regulation to the Yotes and Hawks, LOL

If I'm the Hawks, I start the accountant in goal tonight.

I wonder what would have happened to Sanheim's TOI if he made this turnover. Why didn't MacDonald just rim the puck around the boards behind the net?

Mrazek is pretty frustrating, right? Talent is there but when it's bad it's real bad.
- houseofcards74

His reflexes and puck skills are excellent, but his positioning and rebound control leave a lot to be desired.

I didn't realize the Blues had a game in hand. They are going to make it.

Last second goal too.

If the Blues get a ROW tonight and lose to the Avs in a shootout they still make it

Pretty obvious.

Yeah pretty obvious signing a glass chandelier as the backup goaltender. Neuvirth's inability to stay healthy is a huge factor in this.

Again, if the Avs win at home in regulation Saturday, they are in no matter what the Blues do. With the way the Blues have performed recently in crucial games, I would be betting on them right now. I'm just hoping the Flyers and Panthers win out, the Blues (frank) up and we end up with the 14th pick. Hell, if the Blues can find a way to get no points in their last 2 games, Dallas could even pass them and perhaps we get pick #13.

Really? Maybe this is just convenient, but which player has led the Flyers in total ice time by a county mile the last two seasons and how old is/was that player in those seasons?
- MJL

I feel like we have discussed this already on this board. Using Provorov as an example for Hak trusting young players is a terrible example. He's special, always will be special, and the fact that the Flyers got him at #7 is pretty crazy to think about.

Correct. The Avs need to win in regulation Saturday to make all else meaningless.
However, I'm not convinced the Blues beat the Hawks tonight. This is it for the Hawks, if they can't make the playoffs, ruining the Blues season would be a nice consolation prize for them. The hatred between those 2 teams runs deep.

If they miss the playoffs I wonder if all the Brayden Schenn trade talk BS stops...

I don't think it matters, just as long as the defense shows up. I get Elliot was just returning from a month long injury but players go four to six months of offseason and don't look that shaky.

I'm comfortable with Mrazek or Elliot.

So happy for this Sedin goal in their last Vancouver game:

https://deadspin.com/dani...sted-by-henrik-1825036457

I'm a huge fan of the Sedins and anyone that doesn't think they don't both belong in the HHoF can kiss the fattest part of my ass.

- johndewar

Couldn't agree more. My nephew had a Make a Wish with the Sedin's a few years back and they treated him like a king. Class all the way. Happy retirement, guys!

Couturier wasn't special as a 19 year old defensively? You just want to omit what doesn't fit your narrative. It's pretty simple for every coach. If a players ability merits the ice time and usage then a coach will use him in that manner. You want to use two different standards. You're comment is disingenuous and quite frankly a bunch of bull.

There is a decent chance that Frost will be a better player than Schenn. Let's hope he is.

Lehtera's ability doesn't merit any ice time at all, and yet he's out there killing crucial penalties instead of better, younger players.

Even if Giroux doesn't get to 100 points, I could not be prouder of how he's come back this year.

I'm trying to remember a Philadelphia athlete everyone left for dead and came back to an elite level the way G has.

Maybe Joel Embiid? Many wrote him off and continue to write him off, but when he's on the court, he's dominant.

- johndewar

Only a select group of negative Nancys did that.

Did Giroux get credit for an assist on the Raffl goal? Guy is going for a 100 point season. I don't understand how he wasn't credited with an assist there.

Absolutely. His rebound control and positioning is awful. He makes the incredible save. Good trade by you guys I don’t understand fans that would want him over Howard. He won’t be back here next year

I'm always disappointed when an Erik Karlsson wins the Conn Smyth over a Shea Weber simply because his point totals were outstanding.

Elliot. He's the least bad right now, and really the only one with upside potential.
