Ride the hot hand imo. Elliot deserves a start when healthy but if he tanks I wouldn't throw him back in
- Tfaehner

What I will say is that I like that Elliott is a more calm tender back there for this young team. Mrazek is crazy athletic but super inconsistent and get way out of position.

The playoffs are gravy talk is pathetic, if we don't get in that's embarrassing. playoffs were gravy prior to the season starting, it's all situational, and now not making them would be a disappointment. Not to mention a blow to the confidence in the locker room, would be a long summer.

Mrazek sounds like he's 3rd on the depth chart at the moment and I highly doubt Elliot coming back would move him up from there. The team seems to play best infront of Elliot and Lyon so far this year.

Mrazek is up in the air to me, but I'm not interested in playing neuvirth going forward when he can't be relied upon to stay healthy. I mean, if he was able to fulfill his role when Elliott went down, we don't need to trade for mrazek.

Of course not making it would be a disappointment but this has been a bubble team all season.

4 wins of the next 7 should seal it. Winners win. Good teams win. Let's do this

What does that matter? For the past two months we have been in playoff position, if they dont make it that would be awful. You can't chalk it up to them being a bubble team, they aren't. We have a guy with 90 points and two others over 70. This is now a playoff team and they need to make it. I think they will.

Their goaltending situation makes them a bubble team.

edit: their spotty defensive play isnt helping either.

So you would prefer to have a situation where the absolute best-case scenario (Flyers regulation win in Pittsburgh tomorrow) is only good enough to stay in higher wildcard position with Jersey and Florida still in striking range? All in exchange for a slightly higher chance to move up perhaps one spot in the mid-10s in the draft; a range where your chances at a future impact player are still almost exactly the same as if you picked a spot or two sooner or later? You would prefer THAT to a chance to get back into a guaranteed playoff spot and be no worse than one point or a tiebreaker out of 2nd?
- bmeltzer

Go Columbus.

I'm greedy. I want a whole loaf. I certainly want the Flyers to make the PO's, which they will if they decide to show up every night (I don't care who they get as an opponent in the first round), and I want the best pick possible from StL.

If it's one or 4 selections better, it doesn't matter to me. I want the better pick so I can choose who I consider the best possible player is at that spot.

It's an 82 game season. The only point total that matters is after every team has played all 82 games. The Flyers sit in a wild card spot and are 7 points up on Florida but Florida has 3 games in hand. They haven't clinched anything yet. They are now and have been a bubble playoff team all season. I agree it would be disappointing and I think they're going to make it also but that doesn't change what kind of team they are.

Exactly it is a 82 game season but they are 2 points out of second in their division and only 5 points out of first. For the past month they have flirted with first place so to me that is not a bubble team and it would certainly be a disappointment if they do not make it. Why can't you see that?

Yup, I’d be very disappointed if they don’t make the playoffs considering where they are in the standings. Not ‘64 Phillies blowing a 6 game lead with 2 weeks left in the season level of utter devastation, but very disappointed.

Here is what I can see. They are still in a position where they could wind up in or out of the playoffs. That's a bubble team.

Did you not read where I stated it would be a disappointment if they didn't make it?

Why did the nhl update the lottery odds to give the bottom 6 teams a better chance to win a top 3 pick while stealing from the middle teams. This late in the season that's a tad bit ridiculous

Yes I did and did you see where I mentioned they are 2 points out of second place? So I guess you believe that all the teams in the metro division are bubble teams then?

I don't agree there. I think outside of Tampa if any other Atlantic was in the metro they would have a much harder time.

The metro is over .600 vs the Atlantic this year. The Atlantic top teams are inflated by playing lesser opponents.
