You can't be serious.
We can make the playoffs without the Blues help. Everyone should be rooting for the Blues to lose out due to the draft pick. |

So you would prefer to have a situation where the absolute best-case scenario (Flyers regulation win in Pittsburgh tomorrow) is only good enough to stay in higher wildcard position with Jersey and Florida still in striking range? All in exchange for a slightly higher chance to move up perhaps one spot in the mid-10s in the draft; a range where your chances at a future impact player are still almost exactly the same as if you picked a spot or two sooner or later? You would prefer THAT to a chance to get back into a guaranteed playoff spot and be no worse than one point or a tiebreaker out of 2nd? |

Even if the Blues make the playoffs the pick is going to be a similar pick unless they make the semi-finals, correct? |

I'll also say I don't see a large difference in prospects outside of the top 4 and than the next tier is 5-11/12. 13-25 is a pick your preference. And it's deep for quality. |

right now the Flyers would be picking 15th and 17th (st. louis). if the blues move up to WC1 the pick would be 19th. Realistically the highest the pick could be would be 14th. so its all close
As far as the Flyers I still rather see them in WC1 assuming the Capitals win the division. I don't think the Capitals would be an assumed win for the Flyers but I just think it would be the best matchup for the Flyers. |

right now
East
WC1 - Flyers - 17
WC2 - NJ - 16
West
WC1 - Anaheim - 19
WC2 - Colorado - 18
out of the playoffs
St Louis 87 points - 15
Dallas 84 points - 14
Florida - 81 points - 13
I guess technically St. Louis could still finish 3rd in the Central being Minnesota is only 3 points up on them which would be around 22 all based on the current standings |

I took into account my own predictions based on scheduling. I think both our picks will be top 20. I'm completely okay with that. |

Plus we have plenty of ammunition to move up between picks or prospects that are caught in our system log jam or even roster players (gudas simmer etc) |

very happy with 2 top 20 picks. Of course after tonight's game I would be fine with St. louis losing out |

Yup.👍
I have faith we'll end up in the playoffs either way. And ultimately this team isn't winning a cup this year anyway. As many have said this is a growing year. Playoffs are gravy. (frank) the Blues. |

Yes. I think the Caps will win the division and would much rather play them than the Pens. I dont think the Panthers will be able to overtake them. Id rather finish in the wildcard and let Clb and Pitt bludgeon each other. The possibility of a higher pick is just a sweetener |

I agree. The Caps don't worry me nearly as much as an opponent as Pitt and Columbus do. Will the Caps be favored against the Flyers? Sure. And I don't care. |
