I agree. The Caps don't worry me nearly as much as an opponent as Pitt and Columbus do. Will the Caps be favored against the Flyers? Sure. And I don't care. - Doc_Sarcasm
I've been thinking this as well. Washington would be a far better matchup. We've not done well vs Pitt this year, and I'm also worried we won't get any points tomorrow. |

I'd prefer the Caps but you just know Konecny is going to take such a beating against them.
Pittsburgh would pose greater match-up problems past the top 6. |

I wouldn't mind Columbus and Bobrovsky's 3-10 playoff record. |

Maybe but he seems to play out of his mind vs us. |

So you would prefer to have a situation where the absolute best-case scenario (Flyers regulation win in Pittsburgh tomorrow) is only good enough to stay in higher wildcard position with Jersey and Florida still in striking range? All in exchange for a slightly higher chance to move up perhaps one spot in the mid-10s in the draft; a range where your chances at a future impact player are still almost exactly the same as if you picked a spot or two sooner or later? You would prefer THAT to a chance to get back into a guaranteed playoff spot and be no worse than one point or a tiebreaker out of 2nd? - bmeltzer
It’s a win win. It better the blues pick plus it betters our chances for a lottery selection

Yes, but hell take a beating regardless of who we play. I think we match up with wash better as they're not as deep as previous years. I know it's been debated ad nauseam but had we morin been healthy and up for some of the years, I think he could really help us physically contain some of these teams in the playoffs. I worry we're a little too soft back there for the playoff wars especially with gudas struggling. Oh well. He'll be up soon. |

You know it would be a moral lock that BOB would get his first playoff series win vs the Flyers and all the jackasses and knownothings would be in fap-heaven |

We have gotten the better of Columbus all year and even the last game though we played like poop we had a legit shot to win that game. I fear Tampa penguins. Anyone else I truly think we have at the very least a 40% chance of winning. |

that will change against the flyers. we all know it. i’d rather not be subjected to a near deja vu of the 2002 ottawa series but with our own former player and have to listen to the incessant talk about the mistake and worst trade in flyers history for an entire series.
i want a flyers caps 1st round series. should they advance i think they’ll face the winner of pitt/cbj. i’d rather face pittsburgh because their goaltending doesn’t scare me. plus, (frank) them. |

I feel like this season has turned into a passing of the torch from Simmonds to Konecny. |

Saying Lyon gets the Sunday start vs pens. Neuvirth expected to come back in one the road back2back. Mrazek out the equation I guess ? |

i don’t know there’s a passing of the torch as much as there’s a new young weapon that’s been added to the arsenal. we’ve seen a rather large resurgence from G after three straight down years. i think simmonds has been injured all year. not himself. he’s still chipped in quite a bit offensively. i think he can rebound to be more of a presence like his former self.

Caught it live last night. The team is stacked for hopefully a deep run and more opportunity to watch our #1 prospect. |

Interesting. Simmonds is scoring at a .63 P/PG pace, Konecny .59

This is going to turn into a goalie clown show once Elliott gets back. Normally a guy doesn't lose his job because of injury but can you let Elliott work himself into shape with every point being so critical? Neuvirth will be hurt the second he hits the ice. |

Ride the hot hand imo. Elliot deserves a start when healthy but if he tanks I wouldn't throw him back in |

Interesting stat. Bruins reached the 100pt mark for the 22nd time in their history. Most in nhl history. Behind them is a 3 way tie at 19 between mtl det and philly which to me is amazing.
3 oringial six teams who have been around since 42 and the Flyers who have only been around since 67 have 19!
I enjoy when leafs fans try to say the flyers historically suck when you can throw a stat like that out.
