Maybe a second round pick for price. Honestly who wants to pay 10 million for a goalie for 8 more years.

I guess a good fit could come from Edmonton. They are struggling in defense. What about Draisaitl for Price?

As the Montreal GM, you want a true #1 centre, a lefthanded defensemen, your #1R pick 2018 & your #2R pick 2018.

Whoever is offering that can have Price for the next 8 years. We’ll see you in the Stanley Cup finals !

Note: During those 8 years, you can not hire Michel Therrien for any capacity in your organisation, but that should be do-able ;-)

Zero interest in him. Why pay 10.5M AAV ( for 8 years) for a goalie who has had one outstanding season quite some time ago.
I am not sure what team does. Edmonton because of Chiarelli perhaps?
Montreal cannot win with him taking 10.5M a year on the cap. No team can win with so much $ on a goalie.
The only way it could happen is if the other team woudl send dead wood Montreal's way. Luongo + Huberdeau for Price+Mete or something like that.

Since my team doesn't need a goalie, I picked a contending team that needs a goalie, the New York Islanders, here is what I would offer for Price if I were them:

Montreal gets - Brock Nelson, Calvin DeHaan, Anders Lee, Jaro Halak, and a 1st round pick

Islanders get - Carey Price and Alex Galchenyuk

This would give Montreal 2 centers and a defenseman which they need, it would also get rid of Galchenyuk which they have been trying to do. It would give the Islanders a winger for Tavares and the top notch goalie that they really need without having to give up Barzal or Pulock. Plus the Islanders have 2 1st round picks next year so they will still have a 1st round pick after this trade.

We would want Tavares, DeHaan, Nelson & 1st.

NYI get Price & Galchenyuk.

We‘re not taking Halak back when we have Lindgren & McNiven. We had that experiment before.

There is little to no chance anyone takes on that contract unless there's salary retained. Love to have him but 8 yrs is a lonnnnnng time.

Nothing he’s overpaid, injured quite often and hasn’t posted elite numbers in quite sometime would prefer to sit back and watch Montreal suffer for years

You are not getting that much for them. Price's value is not that much higher than Tavares.

I have to say... a goalie locked up at 10.5 for 8 years is scary. Especially, with him being 30 and likely going to decline. As a Hawks fan, Corey Crawford at $6 million is starting to look like a steal. The Hawks would politely pass.
