Maybe they don't wanna play for that puke in the net....like they didn't wanna play for johnston. It's how they affect change and like it or not it has lead to 3 cups in the sid and geno era!

I'm not buying they're tanking these games to get rid of the backup goalie. I am however worried that we've played so many games the last two years that we're going to struggle badly in b2b's.

If sully honestly thought that then neimi would start the first game and Murray the second. Neimi was given to Chicago and Tampa twice for a reason...he is being tested...and failing. It's easy to say the team is playing bad...but this last second goals and a number of others are all on the tender. It's a motivational suckfest when goals like this pour into the net. 15ga in 6 freaking periods...thats not on the skaters at all!

Did you watch Geno on that 3rd goal? Turns it over on the boards near the blue line with a blatantly lazy deke attempt. Then doesn't cover his man that scores the goal. That GA was ALL him.

A goalie has to has to has to make saves sometimes...maf did. Murray does. Neimi had a 8 GAA coming into this game and it will likely STAY at 8. That is not NHL calibre goaltending.

Edit...what has neimi done for the skaters this year? Nothing...cost them games and cost them early. It's hard to play in front of that kinda crap!

My god this board was filled with complaints of maf for years with his three cups and a goldmedal along the way...he has his ups and downs but goddammit he never looked as bad as this pylon. Yet ppl in here are saying it's not on neimi. Come on now!

We're not going to agree. I'm not arguing that Niemi doesn't suck, but I refuse to give the players in front of him the benefit of the doubt when they play this badly. Murray gave up 6 when he replaced Niemi in the Chicago game and Tampa could have scored 10 or more the last time around if Niemi didn't make several great saves.

Again a pylon leaks 4 quick ones to a team like Chicago and everyone's intensity goes down...highly unlikely the team comes back there...mur comes in when he should NOT have had to and wasn't sharp (he did play the night before). I could care less about what happens AFTER neimi leaks all the crap. Make a couple saves early like every other goalie can and maybe the team won't lose its collective motivation.

Whatever man...

Just remember we had this conversation whenever they shred Niemi's eventual replacement.

When teams start shredding mur u can say told u so. But mur is getting us all our wins and neimi all our losses. That's enough for me.

Those retaliatory crosschecks by palat were no different than sids at the start of the game.

The day they signed Niemi I wrote on this board that he was going to cost us games and just about everyone said it wasn't a big deal. Well this is what I was talking about. Dallas had the worst goaltending numbers in the league last year so we go out a sign one of them? It just sucks that they could have had Picard for nothing a couple of weeks ago but elected to wait and see.

I was worried but we were so spoiled with how amazing maf and mur played for us. We really forgot what real bad goaltending looked like. I was never one that threw maf under the bus. He made "the saves". The ones needed to flip games etc. I was hopeful neimi would be better with a team in front of him. But he isn't. Chicago pulled the plug on this man after winning a cup...so there had to have been a reason. San Jose pulled the plug on him and they promptly run their way to the finals. This guy is done..hasta neimi....go home.

Is the next prospect after Jarry in the AHL yet?

True. However in the animal kingdom, Penguins don't feast on Panthers either.

Many guys on our team playing like garbage. No effort most of the time. No power on the skates. Bad passes. HORRIBLE team D. Bad to average goaltending.

Sheary/Rust/Guentzel have been invisible..

P.S. Dumoulin and Schultz got paid and now are playing GARBAGE hockey.
