He can move up a line or two and not embarrass himself if you need injury replacements. The Pens expected a little more goal scoring out of him considering he did pretty well in the AHL. When our young guys moved up, most people thought he'd be the better goal scorer out of those kids. It just didn't materialize.

Looks like we got a 5th back too.

to me he sounds like a Glendening with a lil more scoring capability...

Are you implying FoF 'shouldn't' be on our 4th line?
- Aussiepenguin

Absolutely everyone on our fourth line should be currently scratched. The only guy that was understandable was Rowney just because we didn't have another center. Now we do so everyone should be out.

Looking forward to today's game, Tampa are the real deal & a very good measure of how we are really travelling (even though it's another B2B). If we can score 4 there should be no reason to lose - weary tired old legs & all.

(frank) taking penalties & be disciplined. The only fear I have is the win last night the team will think it's all good to take the foot off today - I really hope they don't & throw the bathtub at the Bolts!

Leeeetttttsssssss Gooooooooo Peeeeeeeeeennnnnnnnnnnnizzzsssssssszszszszs

(frank), just saw Niemi is in!

Archibald should be in over Reaves. Sheahan and McKegg should push Rowney out. Now that Wilson is traded Kuhnhackl is fine, but playing Wilson over Kuhn should have been a no brainer. I wouldn't be apposed to trying Simon over Kuhnhackl for a couple of games and see how he goes. Kuhnhackl is just super vanilla and doesn't do much beyond blocking shots and I'd like to go with a more upside player.

More solid goaltending from Niemi. Sid is looking to win the PIM race this year. Rutherford wastes all of cap space on a 4th line centre. Gonna be a long night. At least this will Niemis last game.

If he played tonight it would be Hagelen and Hornqvist but that changes constantly.

We weren't gonna get anyone better than Sheahan who fit under our cap as it stood without giving up a roster player (aka freeing up cap space). If Rutherford wants to get a 3C he still can since we'll be trading one of Hornqvist, Hagelin, or Sheary most likely in a hockey trade. Cap won't be an issue.

A 5/6 defensive man would be more of a need in my opinion.

Now that we have two competent bottom 6 Cs wouldn't be aposed to going out and getting some depth D. But my point is if Ruth still wants to get a better 3C, cap shouldn't be an issue unless its someone like Duchene, who we shouldn't try to acquire anyways because of price tag.

Ruwedel and Cole (Who I will give a pass to based on the injury) have been suspect at best.

Cole's a solid #5, but he does need a better partner. He and Hunwick aren't a good blend of skill and Ruhwedel has been on a mission this season to prove why he wasn't an NHL regular until last season. But Hunwick isn't not gonna be plaid, so despite Cole being good, it might not be an awful idea to exchange him for an RD that can play with Hunwick better, as much as it pains me to say it. I like Cole.

There's really no negatives to the Sheahan move:

1) The Pens didn't have to move any significant

2) Pens still have some cap space and if he doesn't work out at 3C, he can easily move down to 4C and make a deadline move for a 3C upgrade.

3) One year contract, so no long-term commitment.
