I completely agree but we both know this is the sort of situation where a lot of coaches hit the end of the line.

Something's gotta change. The choices look like get a new coach, make a trade or pound the goo out of the Islanders and shake it off. But being kinda of a win now team something's gotta give.

Yeah don't get me wrong, I'm pretty much done with AV after being a pretty big supporter.

I just think its the perfect storm of crap right now, and I don't know if a new coach changes that.

Just employ him 3 months then AV can have the team back.

The Rangers usually always have a streak like this every season, where they lose 5 out of 7 or something. This is just the first time it has happened the first 7 games of the year

I really don't think things are as awful as they seem. Just need to clean things up a little.

Look on the bright side, at least Long Island Arby's will now be offering their new venison sandwich.

It's from New Zealand because there aren't enough white tailed rats in NJ.

Seems to be a popular place for farm-raised venison. I have a buddy that owns part of a high-end restaurant and they have a NZ venison dish on their regular menu.

My only concern with firing AV is who's available? Ruff as the head coach i'm not sold on.. maybe Iron Mike will come back?

"Kevin Hayes was out of position, allowing Phil Kessel to take advantage of the first one..."

Not sure how you blame Hayes on that Jan, when Hayes is trying to cover 2 players because there was no defender on the left side in sight.

It was either horrible coverage by the defense or an awful change and the defenders screwed Hayes

Nope, he ain't leaving his farm. HE lost his team in LA, and he wouldnt fit in NY, he is living the stress free life taking care of his son.

He actually retired, spending time with his adult disabled son on their farm. Not kidding or being a Richard, that's just what he is up to.

I think Jan is saying that Hayes allowed Kessel too much room when Kessel finally got the puck. Doesn't matter. Hayes is just one of the many drops in a bucket that is now overflowing.

I think you're right on that one. He seemed to be hinting at taking time away even while he was in LA.
I don't have a problem with Ruff stepping in at this point. These guys could use someone screaming bloody murder at them and making them suffer bag-skates until they play with some urgency and responsibility.
They can tell the media how they know they need to be better until they're Ranger blue in the face, but I don't see more than a couple of them doing what needs to be done on the ice where it counts.

The fact the Rangers capitalized on both sequences of the double minor and didn't win that game also boggles my mind. The Rangers very rarely do that. It just show they have no killer instinct, leadership...whatever you want to call it. Just amazing.
