I thought LV has done a horrible job so far...

They loaded up on a weaker draft and their prospect pool is good but not amazing for what they could of had.

Dumba and Vatanen is way more valuable then what they got.

They have one maybe top 4 defensmen and a bunch of 5th/6th/7th guys

And judging by FA no one wants to play there

I know you're joking, but Marner is going to be better than Nylander. Everyone's currently on the Nylander>Marner train because he dazzled us towards the end of the season, but Marner's skill level and work ethic are higher.

I thought overall Nylander had a better season. And the fact he's a natural center puts him above for me.

Leafs fans need to stop this Kapanen hype.

Yes, he is young.

Yes, he is full of potential.

But his track record so far is 17 regular season games, 1 goal, no assists.

Playoffs: 6 games, 2 goals, no assists.

I'm not saying he is bad.

What I'm saying is we need to stop saying he's a top 6 forward.

Because we've seen this act before - setting up a kid with ridiculous expectations.

Not sure what these teams value these players at, but I wouldn't mind seeing either of them roughing people up in front of Anderson. He got bumped around too much and with Mac behind him... we can't afford to lose anderson to the rough stuff.

The debate is on for now. But I'm making a prediction that Marner will have the better career. Can't argue with with Oilers and Sabres picks that year, but Arizona is gonna regret Strome over Marner.

Let's not forget Marner fought thru Mono or Strep last season for a few months.

I'm sure he didn't get back to 100% healthy all season. Mono or Strep are hard to get over and take a long time. Loss of strength and loss of energy are two of the biggest symptoms.

It's an interesting debate, I think Marner = Nylander. Totally different players but both have amazing talent. Nylander's shot vs Marner's passing/creativity. Tough call.

It's going to be fun to watch the big 3 grow with the team.

I like Manson a lot. Not sure how to get him but we need a RHD just like him.

Every time I hear people mention Barrie or Theodore I get irritated. We have sooo many non-hitting, puck moving D that we definitely need to compliment them with a defensive D with toughness IMO.

Manson, Hamilton, Parayko, Trouba, Buff, Burns.....we need at least one guy like that.

YES... most will cost us.. Manson makes the most sense because we can offer hopefully what anaheim would want for him. I think Hamilton is overrated, but Trouba would be great, Parayko I thought woulda been perfect until I watched the WC and I thought he was Terribly slow... and would cost us a fortune.

I really like Jake Mccabe too, especially after seeing him hit Laine last season lol Oleksiak is a beast with great pedigree

Probably depends on how the season is going. point is they have the flexibility with it. Some people see jvr as a rental and it hurts his value.. yea probably.. but if you need the flexibility then it could be seen as an asset.

Sure a #1 would be best... but unrealistic right now.

If we can get a Doughty without gouging our core great. If not. I think Manson would be ideal for what I think our D need (RH Big Mean, can play, and will help the confidence of our younger/smaller players).

I didn't say pay/treat Manson like a #1...
