To be fair, put yourself in their shoes.
I'm not disagreeing with you or saying there should be an asterisk. But I can't imagine the anger that must have caused for Preds' fans. - jmatchett383
I would also be angry if my team went 0-4 on the pp including almost a min 5-on-3 in the 3rd period of a tie game.
I would also be angry if my team's no. 1 dman lost a race footrace to a puck that officially iced the game |

I mean he posted a + 21 that's a pretty good number for a guy who didn't score. It means while he was on the ice they didn't get scored on much. - Mr.FunFacts
You just cited plus minus. Your argument is invalid. |

If not Bonino I would look into perhaps: Cody Eakin, Zegmus Girgensons, Mikael Backlund, Brock Nelson, Patrik Berglund, Markus Granlund, Shawn Matthias - mventres

there is always a way also serious question can't they offersheet him for his new contract? or does it have to be done AFTER the current one has run out and before he signs the new one thus why he is signing the new contract while he is still under one? |

He has to be an actual RFA. EDM can sign an extension once he is in the last year of his deal. |

Will be a good depth center for the Preds. Still can't believe the goal that was waved off in Game 6 There should be an asterick in the record book reading "Nashville scored a good goal in Game 6 that would have won the game but it was inexplicably waved off by the referees. The referee was out of position and his poor decision to blow the whistle did not alter the play but the goal was disallowed. Numerous poor calls and multiple non calls on Crosby casted suspicion on the Series. The Predators first and last goals of the series were waved off and the cause to this day is unclear

He played a little bit of center with DET. He has been a center throughout his career. |

If Pens dont get Bonino or Hanzal.... i think they will pay the price to get Duchene, the market will be very weak from there on and I dont see the team being content with a lame 3LC
Just a hunch - nelson911
Hmm...I wouldn't go that far. I think the FA is weak, but there are a lot of other trade possibilities. I would be very surprised if the Pens landed Duchene because of the asking price, his contract, his fit on the team, etc. |

I'll be pissed if Ruth pays the price for Duchene and then goes dumpster diving for defense. I don't see how he can have faith that Letang will be healthy for next years playoffs.
No f'n way do I part with Sprong for 2 years of Duchene. Complete luxury.

He probably can get 4.5 mil a year... and he isn't worth it IMO. 3.5 is the most I'd say he's worrh. |

He is probably going to get some high offers so it comes down to cost/benefit. Let's face it, he is a third line center (albeit a good one in many respects) who is about to get paid like a second line center. I'm sure JR will be looking for an adequate, yet cheaper, replacement if the price is too high, which I think it will be. I doubt he breaks the bank for a third line center given the state of our defense. |

If McDavid signs for 13.25 million, teams like Toronto are going to have to dump salary in order to pay their young stars. I could see them off loading Kadri or maybe Bozak... Buffalo will be in the same boat too.... Rutherford will find a decent center.... |

Yeah, I'm right there with you. I lean toward keeping him because I like a lot of aspects to his game, so I might go $4 mil but only for 2 years.
I have a feeling we will all be happy with who JR gets for 3C, even if we aren't at first. |
