To idiots and haters, yes. To everyone else, no.
Let's say the goal counts. Ok, Pens scored, too. Tie game. Who wins then? Debatable. Preds couldn't score with multiple gifts while the Pens got zippo and still managed to score.
Let's say the Preds win that game. Ok, back to the Burgh for game 7 where the Preds were 0-3 and Rinne didn't look like an NHL goalie.
So take your asterisk and shove it up your ass.
How about that offsides that wasn't called in '09? Or was it two offsides? Or was it icing? It's hard to keep up with the whining. Sorry the Pens had to end your little dynasty. Still bitter, "bro"? Haha, sucks to be you.
Nobody likes you except for your buddy dog boy. If you are so smart, take a hint and get a clue. |

Nah...i Iive in Canada and play hockey with about 100 different guys over 4 different games during a week. Theres only one other pens fan... Not one of those guys thinks the refs are the reason the Pens won the cup... None of them think its remotely close to Hull's triple OT cup winning foot in crease goal. I dont know you personally but I have a sneaking suspicion you don't actually think that at all either... |

Meh, Pens deserve their back to back cups. They played well, Refs missed calls on both fronts. I mean Crosby, Malkin, kessel and a defence that stepped up. Oh and the fact that goaltending imo was also better for Pitt, all that is what decided who won the cup. |

No poop. Just how the Dallas fans don't give a poop. Saying how others will remember it is not trolling... - Feds91Stammer
I read a lot of the other boards, and was really surprised most fans here don't see it your way. Most realize the refs made a bad call and then spent the entire rest of the game trying to get Nashville a goal. Anybody who watched that game saw the refs literally trying to gift Nash a goal. A real champion would have scored a goal under those circumstances.

Will be a good depth center for the Preds. Still can't believe the goal that was waved off in Game 6 There should be an asterick in the record book reading "Nashville scored a good goal in Game 6 that would have won the game but it was inexplicably waved off by the referees. The referee was out of position and his poor decision to blow the whistle did not alter the play but the goal was disallowed. Numerous poor calls and multiple non calls on Crosby casted suspicion on the Series. The Predators first and last goals of the series were waved off and the cause to this day is unclear
- predsfan97
How would that goal have won them the game?
It sucks for them that the goal got waved off, and I think they got jipped in game 1. That said, plays where refs lose sight of a loose puck that gets scored happen several times a season. It sucks that it happened in the biggest game of Nashville's existence, but if the roles had been reversed, I doubt you'd be as noble about it. But if you think that the reason for the goal being waved off in Game 6 is unclear, I don't know what to tell you, as the reason seems very clear (ref with a bad angle as directed by the NHL, body language of Murray). |

Berglund's out for like half a season... Again...
Shawn Matthias is a 4th liner.
I want to say Eakin is more 4th liner than 3rd liner at this point in his career so I think we'd be taking a gamble by taking on his ~4 mil AAV. I might prefer to see what Bonino gets and pay the extra.
Backlund and Nelson would be good gets. Both are middle six centers and can slot up to the second line no problem when injuries hit. I don't know how available either are, though. I feel like Calgary is higher on Backlund than they are on Bennett.
I'd be fine with Girgenson as long as he doesn't get an outrageous contract. He's a RFA this offseason. |

5-3 for 45 seconds at 10:00 in period 3 of a 0-0 elimination game? And they don't score?
Not only should they lose the cup for that one, they should be banned from the playoffs for 2-3 years!
Whistles are blown early all the time in every NHL game. If that is all Nashville has to console themselves with at this point, they have a long way to go to become an intelligent hockey town. |

To be fair, put yourself in their shoes.
I'm not disagreeing with you or saying there should be an asterisk. But I can't imagine the anger that must have caused for Preds' fans. |
