There was a guy that played for Detroit a few years back that won 4 Stanley Cups, 7 Norris Trophies, and a Conn Smythe Trophy. That guy was pretty good.

- Pete V

And Karlsson is outpacing him on all fronts in terms of accomplishments at the same age. Come back in 20 years and see how they compare. Karlsson has a higher points per game average than Lidstrom in both the reg. season and the playoffs.

Most of Lidstroms big wins were at the end of his career, and he had Yzerman, Federov, Shanahan, Chelios, Murphy and a bunch of other hall of famers surrounding him. Karlsson's doing it all by himself. No comparison.

You are a flat-out idiot. Lidstrom has one of the most accomplished NHL careers ever. Karlsson hasn't managed to get even a sniff of the Stanley Cup final. And the so-called greatest defensemen since Orr, would have had more playoff success than Karlsson has had.

Right now, he's about 4 Cups, five Norris trophies and a Conn Smythe short. How about he gets out of the second round of the playoffs before your crown his ass the best since Orr.

I swear, everyone here is more stupid for having to even read your nonsense, which its amazing you are even able to type with Karlsson's ball jammed so deeply down your throat.

actually, all those guys were surrounded by Lidstrom

pretty sure Erik Karlsson would say Nik Lidstrom is the best Swede defenseman in NHL history if you asked him

Just think, the series hasn't even started yet. This is going to be an interesting next eight to 15 days.

You're acting like we're saying Karlsson is garbage, we're all aware of his talent, so are the Rangers, also who declared him healthy? you think heel fractures heal in a week? Who do think he is Mario Lemieux?

. Oh boy...here we go.

A) the rangers aren't Boston. They had two players basically, everyone else was hurt
B) Karlsson is not some no name, you don't think the rangers will key in him?
C) no respect to the rangers either. Playoff pedigree more then any team around right now
D) he has a broken heel
E) suck my balls

- Slimtj100

Indeed, here we go...

A) Ottawa isn't Montreal either. They had two lines and a poopty system based on over reliance on their goalie, we are a team very similar to yours and this series will come down to luck and who gets more scoring from their top 6 fwds. I like our chances;
B) You don't think Karlsson knows that and is ready to adapt to your piss poor ideas of hard hitting forechecking on his side of the ice after soft dumps? You don't think EVERY team in the league has tried to do that to him at some point? He'll be ready for whatever you think will work against him.
C) Who said I had no respect for the Rangers? I think they are a very good team whose fans don't yet realize what they're up against is all.
D) It's now fully healed, if it wasn't you wouldn't have known about it;
E) No, you suck MY balls.

So when that happens this year, what are you gonna say?

Pete V, what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I've ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response was there anything that could even be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is also now dumber for having read it. I award you no points or credibility, and may God have mercy on your soul...

Dude..you come in here like a madman...calling out Pete v who is arguably the most respected guy on the entire site (all boards). Just enjoy Karlsson for what he is. But I tell you one thing, if your gonna talk smack all series and act this way...you are serously going to regret it with this group here. It's just a warning. And holy poop if you don't win the series, look the (frank) out

He got the injury back in March, and has been playing through it the whole time. It's apparently now fully healed and was a minor ailment to begin with.

This is gonna be so much fun....Jan is right, I can't wait to see this forum by the time game 5 rolls around. Y'all take the bait way too easily.

Aho - if you believe that any of the Rangers fans, at least the ones who read my blog, or the team itself doesn't think they are in for a hard fought, difficult series, you are sadly mistaken. None of us are overlooking Ottawa, despite the belief of many out there who think NY will have a cakewalk to the next round.

We know the teams are somewhat mirror images, and getting MacArthur back gives the team three solid scoring lines. Plus, as good as Karlsson is, no offense, he can't yet hold a candle to Lidstrom and Karlsson would say the same thing. He is an elite blue liner, much different style wise than Weber. New York won't shut him down, the hope is to contain him.

If want to get in a name throwing contest, go elsewhere. Plus, as I have said before to my usual readers, if someone wants to come in and talk hockey, don't insult him. Even and especially if you disagree with him. Keep the banter above board.

Just because you couldn't even handle us in World War II and needed the Germans to come bail you out, don't blame me.
