the criticism on Chycka is laughable. Was Vrbata all of a sudden going to return multiple first round picks and/or A prospects or are they still looking at a mid round pick for an asset the signed as a UFA 6 months ago?

C'mon. They might have gotten what? What are they missing out on? A team loaded with A prospects with a top 5 pick already locked up needs to throw a pity party because they may have missed out on a mid round pick in a shallow draft? Chayka is losing sleep over this?

So this one relatively small detail regarding a 40 year old player on a 1 year contract makes Chayka an idiot? Like someone said earlier, maybe before they would have gotten a 3rd or 4th round pick, now more likely a 6th or 7th.
