It's hard to argue with the insanity that has been the Ducks offseason. At least I don't mind sitting in my seats tearing the team up and laughing at them for being lousy. But the people next to me might not like it too much. |

Also forgot to mention them losing Perron in my response. Big loss there that wasn't replaced |

The season hasn't started yet. Perron, McGinn, Santorelli weren't the saviors of this team. There's moves coming. The Ducks have 8D on the roster and that doesn't include Theodore. Let's see the roster come September.

I'd add Ottawa to the mix. Seems to be no direction. Bubble playoff team that did nothing to get better than the teams they were already behind on. |

Do the Habs really need to trade Price for him to not play for the team? His inner Lupul takes care of that. |

He'd need to get injured for the next 2 seasons for him get on Lupul's level. |

As much as I am not a fan of Bergevin's moves, MTL is better on paper than last year... |

Ducks have crapped the bed so far on the foward front - & signed Another depth D man who should have zero impact along with the other adds - which amount to basically nothing - something needs to give to get some quality top 6 guys - I don't why this is such a mystery to Murray - |

The season doesn't start tomorrow. It starts in October. Some of the people that left this season were acquired later in the summer last year. More moves are coming. Count on it. I don't know why this is such a mystery to "fans".

I wish I could put up a decent argument for the Ducks, but I can't. I have no f'ing clue what Bob Murray's plan is. As of today the Ducks have 5 defensive pairings (counting Theodore and Montour) and 2 forward lines. Recently on the Ducks STH blog the negativity got so bad that one of the members of the management team piped in and told us to be patient and that there WAS a plan in place. Well, I'll be damned if I know what that plan is. The only thing I can fathom is that they are going to start playing the Gulls kids next year. I personally don't have a problem with that except for the fact that Carlyle LOVES playing kids and has the patience of a saint. |

A 4th line of Boll, Wagner, whoever spells immediate championship AND with Randy behind the bench. Done deal!
Hey on the serious side. My expectations are pretty much 1%. |

There's a lot of time left, but so far it's been pretty brutal for them, and the free agency crop is extremely weak at this point. Thompson, Raymond, Garbutt, and Boll are as of right now all slotted as starters, which is possibly the worst bottom 6 I've ever seen on a supposed cup contender. |

I believe THIS is the plan. Every year for the past 3 or 4 the Ducks have gone into the season as one of the Cup favorites. Maybe now Murray is trying to lower expectations and fly under the radar. That's the only thing I can come up with. |

I understand the frustration, but take Fowler as an example. His best season was under Carlyle. Reports are Ritchie came into camp in great shape and impressed at rookie camp recently.
I still am convinced a trade with Detroit is on the table. They announced a forward signing today (Pulkkinen), they're done with their forwards (they have 18 signed). Take a look at their D. They are in desperate need. They have 3.5M in cap space, with two arbitration cases still pending (one team requested - Mrazek ). Those will be settled by the end of the month. Those arbitration #'s will determine their moves. imo

No way Getzlaf plays 4th line RW, you gotta put Perry there. At least know what you're talking about SHEESH! |

I think Montreal did fine. Weber is not on the decline. Montreal needed someone who can play Defense. Last season proved how poorly the team was built. Once they lost Price they died. They literally just had to play .500 hockey to make the playoffs. They couldnt because that team is nothing without Price. Now they actually have a big body Dman who can handle 30 mins a game if needed and allow the team to survive without Price. If Weber was on the Delcine, Western Conference teams would not be as happy as they are. |

Montreal has had, HANDS DOWN, the worst off-season
Nothing could possibly top the stupidity of the Subban trade. That one will haunt them for years (and years, and years....) to come
Andrew Shaw at $4M per for six years?? So dumb. He's an AHLer that's been propped up by the superstars in Chicago. There's a reason that the Hawks are perennially awesome. Because they recoup prospects and draft picks for plugs like Andrew Shaw each off-season
Watch this Montreal team slowly circle the drain over the next few years....
