Hoffman abritration filing is only a meare formality that the player and the organization both exerced to secure their positions. Both sides seem to look at long term, so deciding on final numbers are always trickier. Signing Hoffman will most likely be dealt prior to the final allowed under arbitration. IMO the org. should have never let that happen, but Melnyk is cheap as hell. At this point, anything involving Hoffman leaving is just a byproduct of team dreaming in color they actually have a crack at his top end talent.

Saw TJ play for Rockford, Chicago's AHL team. He did just fine, the Hawks had several players just like him, so they traded him, as they were not going to re-sign him.
I saw a better player than the scouts saw, and he can easily slot in at 5/6 on Philly.
I'm not expecting him to be in this year's ASG but he won't embarrass himself either. |

A Krejci for Fowler trade would give the Ducks $22.375M tied up in three centers over the age of 30 through 2021. Doesn't seem like a sound choice for any team, let alone one that doesn't spend to the cap. |

TJ Brennan is on an upward trajectory since being drafted? When the hell is going to get there already, he was drafted 10 years ago? |

There's something about ex Marlies that really get people going. Carrick, Tom Nilsson, Brennan, Biggs, Verhague all great great players. |

Ek.
I just don't see Murray taking on Krejci's salary; Anaheim has an internal cap, especially coming off surgery for his 2nd hip injury & already having Getzlaf, Kesler & Rackell at C. Rackell did play a reasonable amount of LW early last season & Krejci has long ago. Hell Kesler even was a RW early in his career but all these players are natural C's.
Anaheim needs a #1 or 2 LW depending upon how you view Ritchie's advancement & how Cogliano will be deployed. He & his line mates from the last 2 years have been a constant. Kesler & Silvferberg. Although moving Cogliano to the #3 line makes sense to me eventually.
Does that make sense to you? Krejci's cap hit & not meeting Anaheim's positional need. |
