Agreed.
Plus, Kane was a real PR nightmare tonight, eh. The Hawks were all over his various wins plastering the news over social media and their web site (as they should). I get why people think Kane is a risk, but I don't see Stan and company giving up their wonder child any time soon. - DarthKane
Dude, Kane GETS IT DONE on the ice. You can't keep him out, he's always showing up for work, and in the playoffs he's a terror.
The kid has made mistakes, but he's growing up and BECOMING BETTER. Meanwhile, Malkin continues to miss games for undisclosed reasons....he's apparently a malcontent with the specter of leaving for Russia at any moment.
I'll take my chances with a kid who has helped hang 3 banners for this team. The idea of trading Kane is lunacy. TOTAL lunacy.
If you're going to do it, damn well better be for something other than freaking Malkin. It better be for a couple ELITE prospects (Eichel types) another top pick and a bunch of cap space.

Crosby, Tavares, or Karlsson and that's it. Maybe Jamie Benn... - EnzoD
Tavares? For Kaner? I guess we would save a ton of cap space....but its all hypothetical anyways. Karlsson no thanks. I think Keith is the better overall player anyways. |

Even Kruger + AA for Malkin is a risky move. Chicago's bottom 6 is already not the greatest and you make it weaker for a guy who's averages just over 60 games per season over the past 3 years. No thanks. - DarthKane
Ya I hope Kane doesn't go anywhere until he's 35 lol. I just don't see how it makes the Hawks a better team unless Rutherford wants picks in 2019 hahah |

Could all the Malkin rumors be a feint or distraction on the Hawks part to keep people's attention from something else? |

I would imagine the hawks are gonna try and ship out Kane if they can malkin is exactly the player they would need in return. But for the same reasons the hawks are shipping him out... the pens wouldn't want him. He is a PR nightmare every other off season. I couldn't see the pens ever making that swap. |

Yeah maybe if Kane looked off his game this season, took a step backwards, then MAYBE i could see trading him because of his past off ice BS or what not. But coming off the season he just had? Not in a MILLION YEARS would i trade him. The entire city of Chicago would riot. And rightfully so. |

Kane is GETTING BETTER. Do NOT move him AT ALL. Unless it'a a MAJOR overpay....I'm talking 2-3 elite specs, a top pick and a ton of cap space.
Otherwise, I want #88 on our team.
Pens would laugh all the way to another Cup if they got Kane for Malkin. |

LMAO....
GOOD....I am glad the Pens won't make that deal. I don't care why I don't want Malkin, let alone for Patrick Kane.

There is no reason to be offended. He is a dirt bag... great player but a dirt bag. Lets be honest you aren't trading Kruger and AA for Malkin. it's Kane cause that's the guy they don't want embarrassing the franchise anymore. |

Ya what a PR nightmare the 3 Stanley Cup parades were during the summer...and now a Hart Trophy this summer?! Trade him for your Russian-band aid, yesterday!
Word is that he might have s degenerative elbow condition. I'd want to try and get the Calder, Conn Smythe, Art Ross and Hart trophy winner in exchange for an injury prone possible Russian defector too! |

Yeah, his face on the main page of ESPN.com's hockey page next to his 3 new trophies is sure embarrassing the Chicago Blackhawks, isn't it? How embarrassing....such a poor image....him winning all those things......

I am not offended. The trade is stupid. Malkin apparently wants OUT....and the Hawks are not going to give up a guy who has his fingerprints all over 3 Cup wins for a complete malcontent who for some reason can't be happy in Pittsburgh.
Kane is growing up. I could give two poops if you think he's embarrassing....the guy has earned a 2nd chance and the way he played this year showed me he was ready to play. Dude will be in Chicago next year. Good luck trading your cossack, who doesn't want to play with your team anymore. |

Totally embarrassing. As a fan of the team, Patrick Kane has my absolute support. YES, he made some mistakes, but the dude is figuring it out and his play this year was magical.
Kane for Malkin is just absurd. |

Do the NYI have $21million tied up in two players? No, they do not. So, the only team's 4C that you can compare to Kruger as far as value (cap hit vs on ice production) is the Penguins bc they are as close as it gets to 2 players taking up so much cap space. By comparison, 40 year old Matt Cullen made $850,000 last year and put up 32 points (16G, 16A) and has better shot generation, shot suppression, and possession numbers than the new $3.1million dollar man in Kruger.
IMO, it is a bad contract on the Chicago Blackhawks, given their top heavy Cap-committments, and what Kruger brings to the ice. Whether it is in the ballpark for market value around the NHL is irrelevant, bc NO team is as top heavy as the Hawks as far as salary. I am not surprised that he is (reportedly) being shopped, as guys who do what Kruger does can be had for 1/3 of the price (and better- see Cullen, Matt). That is without even mentioning his severe wrist injury that he personally questioned at the end of the season.
Cullen vs Kruger HERO chart.
http://public.tableau.com...FD99F3?:display_count=yes - EnzoD
HERO charts once showed Bickell to be a 2nd liner in some areas and 1st liner in one.
Has Casey Czikas helped the Islanders win a playoff series? No he hasn't.
Cullen also wasn't used in the same manner Kruger is. Crosby carried the heavy load for the Pens once Sullivan took over. So your comparison isn't entirely accurate.
And none of it changes the fact that Gadzic sucks at hockey. |

Keith Yandle has agreed to terms with the Florida Panthers: seven years and $6.35 million average per season - DarthKane
Yes. Yandle was playing 3rd pair minutes in NY. And their top 4 was just plain awful this year. |
